Hey,

i WFH they haven’t made any recommendations to go back
a few of us meet once a week just to stay in touch this is not compulsory tho so if I don’t want to go no one bites my head off !

In my part of the job I don’t need to meet anyone face to face but some of my colleagues do but we don’t need an office for this !

saving so much money being at home I can log in early as I don’t need to travel it’s just brilliant

I work solely from home. Can pop into the office if I need to, however no work gets done as we all chat. My office is very laid back. There’s 3 of us, sometimes more

I think from September I may go in a couple of days a week, but we’ll see. It doesn’t bother me either way. I haven’t been in A working office environment since I went on maternity leave in July 2019!

I work from home, I go in 1 day a week, our work don't want us coming in too much since lockdown vos they are able to rent out the office space.

I would prefer to go in more, my gym is 2 mins from my work, this is why I'm Heidi fat only in 1 day

Interesting… I live very close to my work and had been going in for a meeting each Wednesday, which now floats between a Thursday, so I now attend 2 days a week, it has made a difference in my gas/electric bills… however there is lots of moaning about returning 3 days a week, as the main office block has been closed so people are squashing into our office…
So the noise level is rising as are the distraction’s

I will be perfectly honest, I am just not
Motivated and even use the excuse of walking to work as a form of exercise

Yes free heat and electric costs a £15 reduction this month… hopefully more in the E winter as the heating isn’t on ATM
Yes too easy to snack… I don’t mind going back in but as long as it’s not permanent

I've arrived! You don't need to worry.

I work from home. Applied for a promotion at work in February 2020 they did interviews via Teams in March 2020 and I was given a computer and sent packing to WFH two hours later. Got the job, was trained remotely and have learned the job from home.

They did a whole thing about being office-based, home-based or dynamic (some home and some office time) and the entire department selected dynamic or office only. We were over-ruled and have been issued new contracts as home workers but attached to a specific office... I went on Mat Leave and found out I'm attached to an office waaaaay up North.

So no ability to office possibly for the best as the former Mr Fox is there.

We have 3 different offices, and I think they will possibly farm people out… in general, I don’t need to collaborate a great deal with people.. however company jumps on things and sometimes don’t see the bigger picture…I do my intense/focused work at home, so fingers crossed it stays that way…

Fingers crossed our thread is reinstated soon.. only Wagatha to read atm

Love your announcement at the beginning!

I work mainly from home, my job involves visiting people and lots of meetings all over the place so I’m mainly at home although do have an office I just never really visit

Seems like we’ve all got lots in common.
For starters we all share Lizzy as a thread #mom #firstrimethreadmom

We are expected back in office on a Monday for team bonding. Being doing that since January. Now talk of wanting us in for an additional day. I'm not keen as absolutely love WFH.

What general industry do you work in? Sounds similar to my set up!

One of the things I love about WFH is the fact I have time to make nice slow cooked meals, getting my washing done, having a shower on my break. Working in bed if I can't be bothered getting up. Also I can wash my hair at lunch and it ll be dry enough to run a hairdryer over for 15 mins to shape it when I finish as my hair is so long and thick as I have extensions in at the mo

Notice nothing about me wfh has much to do with work

I am not a morning person. I'm so snappy so it's maybe just as well hardly anyone sees me during the day now

I am a boms expert and spend my days building them… in the manufacturing sector of course

Pros for me, putting my washing out, like seeing some of my colleagues, especially the ones easy on the eye () Can sit in my garden at lunch time

Cons - Cost of gas and electric, people disturbing me in the office with pointless chit chat (not in the bitchy sense, it’s just they are not busy, and I am too polite to tell them to piss off) sometimes forget to take lunch

Topic aside - I love all these extra snippets of info about your life, it’s mad you do think who’s on the other end contributing to a thread… we have LG to thank for that How funny as well she’s made us create a topic she knows nothing about

I guess I’ll offer up some titbits - international company, offices all over the place (loads in the U.K.) so can pretty much work from anywhere, even home which I do most days unless my boss in visiting one of the two local offices to me in which case, I’ll go in. Pros and cons to both, hate the commute but love trying all my jazzy suits on for the office and to actually interact with other hoomans

Our general area is insurance/ large UK firm with a European market.

I work in a corporate department but we have to know about the B2B and the B2C functions appropriately and can be called into those departments to help manage the business area if needed. I took nine months of maternity leave and returned to work.

Pros of working from home: I don't have to commute, can work in pyjamas, can mute myself in meetings and walk off so don't have to deal with people before 10AM or two cups of coffee and I don't have to see my ex.

Cons: I miss some of my colleagues, I genuinely wouldn't know half of my department if I fell over them, bad days are very lonely and I miss the heavily subsidised Starbucks.

I have a job interview this week and I’m ill with nerves about it The woman I spoke to about the job position didn’t say whether I would be working from home or in office. I’m assuming training would be in office then I’m not sure after that.

I did like the social aspect of being in office and seeing everyone (in my previous job). And my partner is a noisy fucker so I don’t like working around him

but I also like working from home sometimes for reasons mentioned above: pjs, putting as many wash loads in as I can

I can’t believe they’ve picked Monday ! Of all days we do have one team meeting every other week on a Tuesday or Wednesday

it’s close to my sons nursery so I go after I drop him but a few hate that particular office as they live very far

@Jolie1988 I’ve signed up for gym starting tomorrow I’m shitting bricks hope I can bump into Hedi x
