Anyone else follow my_familyeats?

I feel sorry for the step daughter, totally unnecessary to be discussing coparenting to your 97k followers
I mostly think she’s okay, but I do feel sorry for the step daughter quite often.

There was a time when she gave her kids’ bedrooms a makeover and they got new bedding, decor, furniture etc but the stepdaughter just had a bed in the spare room that doubled as an office. In her defence I don’t think the stepdaughter is there that often, and they may not have had a lot of room (I think they’ve moved since then), but they could have bought some new decor and fun things at least, so she wasn’t left out.
Recently she had her daughter and stepdaughter dressing up in outfits that she had bought her daughter to wear to an upcoming Olivia Rodrigo concert that the stepdaughter didn’t also have tickets to. I don’t feel like any of this is malicious, but I could see how it could make a child feel left out even if it’s not meant that way.

And the one that really gets me is this Bali trip. Because the holiday was originally a cruise that the stepdaughter could go on but then they changed it to Bali even after knowing she couldn’t go (because her mother won’t allow her to get a passport). I just couldn’t imagine changing a holiday to exclude my child’s partner.
There’s plenty Australia has to offer, and they could revisit the Bali conversation in a couple of years and hope for a different outcome.

I just want to know how much financial help she has had from her parents. Yeah she works hard, saves, has the lunchbox biz but how much of that came from generational privilege? Parents helped her with the mortgage, did they the business too? It seems all lovely budgeting and having money for this and that but also, does a regular Joe blow without parents help have the same lucky lifestyle? I don't think so. No way we could go out and buy a 24k camper trailer tomorrow.
I feel there is more to the story with her somehow.

I just feel like my family eats hasn’t tried to hide her parents helping her out with buying half the house (which she’s paid back) so I don’t see an issue??? If she was claiming they didn’t help and shared all this saying you can do it to then there’s a problem but she’s never hid the fact so I think it’s fine. Some people are lucky enough to have that help (others aren’t, like myself) it doesn’t mean she cant share tips on how to save. Her advice is pretty reasonable

Why do I feel like she asked herself both these questions so she could @ the companies? If you’re Perth based you’d likely just get the pram from Baby Bunting. So sick of already privileged people getting everything for free, all it makes me do is avoid the companies that “collab” with them!
