I'm sure we have have a thread on here about what annoys you, but what do you do to annoy yourself/others?
I have to have a podcast/audio book on to go to sleep. It drives my other half crackers as apparently it is "too loud and shouty" and winds him up as he can't sleep. I think he is telling porkies though, as I am quite a light sleeper and can sleep through it, whereas he is a really heavy sleeper.
However if he makes noise such as breathing loudly, i get very annoyed and can't be having that!
Oh gosh.. my fella can’t sleep unless the tv is on or got his headphones in.. but I need silence and darkness .. I doubt he is telling porkies sorry it’s so annoying when someone has opposite sleeping habits it drives me insane I must say turn it down about ten times a night
I spent last night and most of this morning with my (es)girlfriend trying to make amends after a bad-tempered split 2 or 3 weeks ago.
During that time she highlighted a few of my "irritations", not least:-
I twirl my hair when I'm talking/listening
interrupt her in mid-flow, usually with a "...yes, but!"
spend too much time looking at my phablet rather than giving her my full attention
Never folding my clothes when I get undressed (just end up on the back of a chair)
never hang my coat properly by the loop.
making high-pitched squeaking noises like a demented dormouse on acid when I climax
Never clean up any loose hair strands in the bathtub after I've washed it.
Always leaving lights on when I've left a room
Pinching her lipstick without asking
Apart from those (and a few more I can't recall right now), we're just fine

Oh, I've been wondering how you got on. That's quite a list! are you back together? surely you can try to focus on the interrupting, hair leaving and giving her full attention and she can just put up with the rest - they don't sound too bad. I bet she's not perfect either.

One of the questions I asked her last night was "Okay, so what are the things that bug you about me?" And it was if she'd always made a mental catalogue in her head as she started to reel them off.
The hair twirling I stopped as soon as she said it, as well as the interrupting. But they're both habits that are hard to stop on request

well the hair twirling could be seen an endearing but I get it about the interrupting. I did it all the time and have to try really hard not to. Did she ask you what irritated you about her? seems only fair
I know everyone thinks their voice is annoying but mine is genuinely awful. I bet people that tend not to like me cringe when they hear me coming.

I wanted to, but given that I was trying to repair a broken relationship I didn't want to piss her off going on the attack so soon! Therefore, I just let her vent and I bit my tongue and counted to 10 many many times
I lose things a lot. My phone, keys, hair brush, tv remote. I just put things down mindlessly and forget to make a mental note of where I left them which results in me having to retrace my steps, or using find my iPhone. Usually end up getting partner and kids to help me after I’ve checked the ‘usually’ spots lol.
Ive started hobbies, invested time and money into them and then I quickly get bored. My partners had a few hobbies over the years but he’s at least stuck with them for a while, with me its literally a couple of weeks and then I’m done with it.
When I’m depressed I take looooong baths. Like 2 hour long baths. I think it’s because it’s minimal effort self care, all I have to do it sit there in a hot bubbly bath and not do much else. Sort of like killing 2 birds with one stone, yeah i’m miserable but I’m also going to be clean! Which in turn will make me feel slightly better because having good hygiene always feels better in general. But I’d imagine me hogging the bathroom for 2 hours at a time and not being ‘available’ for the kids is a right pain in the a sometimes.
Im rubbish at keeping on top of things. Absolutely hopeless. Been a stay at home mum for years I should be a pro at this by now but I just can’t seem to keep up the constant pacing that is needed to keep on top of washing and other housework all the time. I dunno it’s almost like I’d rather do fun stuff instead My partner does his bit so it’s not that it’s definitely a me problem and I can imagine it is very annoying to live with. That said, I’m very good at the admin side of things. Bills are never late or missed and i make sure we don’t over spend and get left short, i make sure school stuff is paid for, forms are filled in and little things like that that can often get forgotten, so there’s that I guess.
