Any hairdressers here? Grey hair question

So about eight months ago I decided to grow out my grey after getting sick and tired having to colour the roots medium brown every four weeks. To help blend in the obvious demarcation line I had ash highlights and brown lowlights put in after eight weeks growth. I then had another round of the same eight weeks after that.
Another four months down the line I have about four inches of light silver regrowth which I ❤ but the lowlights have gone a bit blorangey.
My hairdresser is adamant I should have lowlights and highlights next time as well but the dermarcation line is gone now so couldn’t I just have highlights alone?
I just know she’ll put the lowlights up into my new growth and that kind of defeats the purpose of going grey I think.
I hope I’ve explained this properly 😂🤪

If you don't think she is going to colour your hair the way you want, don't book a colour appointment.

Sounds like you need a toner over the bits that are orangey .

Thanks for your reply. I probably didn’t make it clear in my question that I’m not sure if she’s right and I’m wrong and it would look stupid to do it my way? Obviously I had it toned when it was done but when I asked how I could tone it myself she told me to use purple shampoo. Which I have and it hasn’t helped much. I’m honestly thinking of just getting a pixie cut and starting afresh!
Thanks again.

I would just have the highlights, although if there is no clear demarcation and you don’t instead to highlight forever I would leave it now to grow out

My greys are bright white and nothing I do at home seems to cover them. I hate the amount of time it takes at the salon to get my hair coloured so does anyone have any tips for anything that actually works at home on bright whites?

Hi OP!
so from what I’ve guessed of your description you’ve chosen what I call the cold turkey approach by leaving your natural hair to come through and trying to lighten the ends to take away the old colour…
It’s a difficult one without ever seeing but sounds like your hairdresser is now trying to break up the old colour line and add some darker pieces to tone into the rest which you now feel has gone orange…
It’s personal choice, get your hairdresser to really explain how the result will look. Remember you can always say no, it is your hair! But sounds like a decent haircut would get you well onto your way, depends on the condition of you’re hair but you could always discuss a total colour removal, It kind of depends on your hairdressers skill level with colour correction.
not much help but it’s easy to wack in a load of colour, a long ass time to grow it out!
