More disgusting than annoying. Colleague brought in a buttercream sponge cake that she made for another colleague's birthday to have at lunchtime - she left it on the work top in the staff kitchen
She went to make a drink and found that someone has lifted the cake box lid and swiped their finger through the buttercream.

My theory always was that they hadn't a thing out of place at home. They acted out their disgusting slovenly behaviour at work, and kept their homes clean - or had their homes kept clean for them. On the other hand, maybe they all lived in squalor.

People are disgusting. I cleaned out one of the work vehicles yesterday and it was a disgrace. Mud on the back seat, the footwells clearly hadn’t been hoovered for months, old tissues in the glove box, two empty coffee cups under the seat. I had a moan about it in the office and someone piped up, ‘Well, we can‘t change our shoes every time we get in and out of the car.’ No, you twit, but you can use a hoover and a bin.

Apologies in advance if this offends anyone but I’ve just had to sit through a 2hr meeting with a guy in his fifties using a massive 6” long frigging fidget spinner incredibly loudly the whole way though. I cannot believe how loud and frankly distracting this thing is but of course you can’t say anything out loud as he has ADHD. Sorry rant over

That’s what I was wondering too. Cos as someone with Audhd a noisy fidget spinner would drive me mad.

You can’t override somebody’s reasonable request with somebody else’s reasonable request, but you can try to accommodate both without dismissing either.

It's not unreasonable to ask him to use a different fidget. My go to in meetings are tangles because they're almost silent, or I doodle because it's no more distracting for other people than if I were taking notes.

Don't get the ones with marbles in a plastic mesh tube, though. They're great, except when somebody with ADHD uses them enough, the seal opens and the marble shoots out in an even more satisfying manner.

I’d not seen the type of spinner he had before but it was so loud and the constant hand movements and noise was incredibly distracting. Unfortunately that combined with constantly interrupting me made for a very long and tedious meeting. I’ll try and miss the next one or he will end up with it inserted sideways into the nearest orafice

Having spent a lot of time recently looking at rental properties I can confirm people are just as bad if not worse at home

Ahh thank you. I’ve already been “stepped up” into the role for a while now on and off to cover long absences. It’s a management role, but it just feels like a very “final” decision if I take it permanently and there’s no way back if I actually end up being tit at it. I know I’m holding myself back. It’s just scary
