Ok this is going to sound bad but annoying things my colleagues do all the time…breathing.

Sitting next to my manager and the breathing sounds are so loud and distracting. It’s driving me mad.

Oh and the slurping of any hot drink.

Is… your manager my husband?

I want to say fidgeting and making their chair creak but I’m afraid that’s me doing it, so me and my crumbling back do apologise.

Putting plug-in heaters on in the office when it's warm and sunny outside and warm inside.
STOP IT!
If you're cold, put a jumper on.
I can't just sit here with my bits out if I'm warm!
Hmpf.

I was on a course with a junior member of staff today and I was shocked at what she told me about her manager and the department head. She needed PPE for the course and has been asking for it for weeks only to be brushed off by her manager, then called into the department head’s office and berated for asking for PPE, then threatened with being taken off the course. Both of them basically told her that if she rocked the boat, she could be got rid of. She’s still in probation at the moment but I’ve told her to contact the union.

I‘m going to speak to my manager about it and ask his advice because I’m appalled at the way they treated her.

A woman who sits near me in the office must be flat footed and to go with it has all the grace of an elephant. She stomps around so much that the floorboards literally shake every time she goes back and forth.

Someone had a tin of sardines for lunch and then left the empty container in the communal trash can in the hallway 🤢
I love sardines but I am considerate enough of my coworkers not to bring and eat them in the office!

That's just horrible. I love an egg sandwich but I'd never subject my colleagues to that smell.

Eggs are very popular in my office so no-one really minds that, but one colleague will heat up fish soup in the microwave and it absolutely stinks!

Had a 1:1 meeting with my boss today it started of great until she mentioned there had been some complaints which had been made by clients 🙄 not all were my fault tho just said clients being absolute wicks and landing me in trouble! 🤨 Anyway I try to not let it affect me but she made me feel like tit 😟 I told her I’m not gonna book anymore meetings with her as she’s so negative 😏😒

Turns out I’ve been doing something wrong that I was shown by someone senior. Chucked em under the bus and said that’s how I was told to do it 🫣

7-10 day turnaround on non urgent requests DOES NOT mean leave it until twenty minutes before you go home for a fortnight, as that'll make it urgent. Especially not when you've copied in management to announce that you will ensure that Dragon does it after the end of the day, well after Dragon's finishing time.

FOUR PEOPLE DID THIS ON FRIDAY.

Fortunately, two members of the management went ballistic. But not before I had. Four times.

I went home on time. To the second.

I'm fine with being in a work group chat on WhatsApp ... but for general chitchat, making plans, work stuff, etc ... I don't want to be constantly pinged with inane memes!

I noticed my supervisor has a tick where if she says something really snarky/self important, she'll do a deep sniff/inhale and now I can't unhear it. She does it multiple times an hour, it's constant.

We use Teams at work and my manager has started constantly setting her status as ‘offline’ so it looks like she’s not at work but is. I think she’s doing it to work uninterrupted but we work from home no one can physically see she’s at work and people keep coming to me with questions for her as they think she’s off. It’s doing my head in and also strikes me as being full of self importance
