I'm trying to catch up with that story a bit. Even if Markle is in pix with Karyna (who she has been mistaken for in other pic on yacht) why would that stop Meghan from filling in Harry on his Uncles habits and adding to him wanting to get outta blighty? I'm guessing with the profile pic you can bring me up to date on that one, one is confused here

Who knows whether she knew Epstein or not. If she knew the girlfriend, there's a strong possibility she did.
The Andrew story has effectively knocked the Mandelson story off the front pages.
Remember, Andrew was arrested exactly a week before the Gorton and Denton-by-Election (which is widely being seen as something of a referendum on Keir Starmer) and is guaranteed to knock both that (and questions about how much Starmer knew about his friendship with Epstein before he was appointed US ambassador) out of the news cycle for at least at least a week and down the list of headlines for probably longer.
It does seem like convenient timing, if nothing else. Particularly as polling after Mandelson’s home was searched was showing a narrow victory for the Green’s, which was largely made up of defecting Labour voters. If Andrew’s arrest creates a positive voting surge for Starmer as it’s happened on his watch and made defectors forget Mandelson, it could just nick a Labour win in that by-election.

Labour are screwed regardless, Andrew being arrested was never going to have any effect on the Gorton and Denton by-election.

I think it’s a bit naive to think the biggest political story of the moment won’t influence how people vote. Post-Mandelson’s arrest and pre-Andrew’s arrest, one of the 4 main polls showed a Green win for the first time, it’s hard not to link that to Starmer’s troubles including Mandelson.
A Reform win is probably preferable from Labour’s POV to a Green win. A Reform win can just be chalked up to White Working class disillusionment with Labour, which is a long standing theme. A green win would suggest that Labour are losing the middle-class, graduate and youth vote which is its backbone these days and is a lot harder for them to explain away.
One of the top stories pre-Andrew was youth unemployment, that’s disappeared too. Palestine isn’t even getting a look in. Plus challenges to Starmer. The absence of other stories is just as much of an influence as the presence of Andrew.
Andrew is teetotal so the beers are for them.

I don't understand what you mean. That Andrew's arrest was perfectly timed to lose the Greens votes, because Labour would prefer a Reform win? Who would be behind this scheme?
If there was ever a time to stop being teetotal, it’s now.
Much as it’s nice to weave together elements to make a story, it could also just be coincidence that he was arrested whilst there’s a by election. And the press are allegedly free to report on whatever is happening; nothing stopping the Tory side saying less about Andy, and more about Mandy.

I'm not even opposed to the idea that it could be a distraction ... or that Andrew is a 'sacrificial lamb', as he's been described. I mean, I'm fairly sure this whole shitshow was the last thing the establishment wanted, but realised that somebody had to take the rap, and Andrew's been the most high profile offender thanks to Virginia Giuffre. So they give him up and hope it somehow blows over, and we don't ask any more questions. Same with Mandelson, it was only going to be so long that they could protect him too (and, therefore, most of the current PLP). But to find out who or what they're distracting from, you've got to look at who isn't being investigated.
Maybe that's why he always looks so clammy and bloated.......he's just a ball of sweat that has no escape from his body.......
