I had a boring, parrot fashion history teacher, then the powers that be started one lesson a week of a young teacher who just chatted with us about the period and really made us think and articulate about it. Even though we wrote no notes it all stuck in our heads. My teen chose history as he loves it, but the teacher is so uninspiring, it's ruined it for him.Even the Germany WW1 and WW2 interests him, but the delivery has ruined it. They are doing the American West which is my obsessive period, well jealous.
Strangely this teacher said to us that he was only doing teaching until he found something he really wanted to do!!!!
ETA maybe if you chat with your son about it it will bring it to life for him and reignite his spark for it.
