He lists here all the things he fears ...emasculation, unequal parity in the relationship, the negative opinions of others etc. So this was already going on in his head when he married Lydia. This might suggest an existing imbalance that he was already aware of. Lydia clearly wanted to be a ‘double-barrel’ whilst Ali had not considered this until she mooted it as a possibility.I remember reading this thinking what an absolute twat waffle.....

The worst was when they were in Switzerland, all expenses paid and both made fun of the French speaking girl when she made a mistake in English and at the same time they get a shitload of money from the company and they keep butchering the name for years.
