She was only on the council list for 5weeks before she even got the property. I know so many who've had to jump through absolute hoops and be in temporary housing/B+Bs for a year that I just don't get it. She originally had rent arrears too in her previous flat.

I don't know any people who've had a DV relationship that have been able to ask the perpetrator to leave and they have..... and not have any issues. That's not to say it wasn't a DV relationship, but councils don't actually need proof that you've left for that reason... just your verbal word.

It's more the fact that she basically made herself intentionally 'homeless' and intentionally overcrowded by moving into her dad's house. Plus previous added rent arrears. Along with claims she couldn't afford the flat she originally had after asking her ex partner to leave whilst on maternity.... but rather than looking at slightly cheaper properties she's gone down this route, with the intention of buying it in Jan 2027.

If you intentionally do those things, you shouldn't have priority anywhere near getting a property after 5weeks... no matter the state of the property. Especially as there are plenty of people in temporary accommodation who don't even have cooking or cleaning facilities with children.

I know the definition isn't this for Council purposes but she wasn't homeless, she was living with her dad. She's obviously got the means to sort herself out and get her house sorted so she could be private renting.

We need a new fence, we're both employed with good jobs and we've been struggling to justify the quotes we've had for a new one. So much so I've been on YouTube working out if I can do it cheaper. There's no way she's not hiding money somewhere.
