Thanks I have just sent for a m&s bra but it didn’t quite fit right so was wondering whether to send for another one, it’s hard with it not being open - can’t try on diff sizes. But I will take your advice and try some more from there xx thanks xxHey, I love marks and Spencer minimiser bras and curvissa.
I find a v neck line flatters, a polo neck style is out the question for me! X
I think I will see if I can get measured again, like people have suggested and maybe look at a different type of bra instead of a minimiser. I don’t really know what I’m trying to achieve but I don’t think I’m getting the right support and it makes clothes hang funny. I’m only small, a size 8 and i feel out of proportion and I hate it so much. I feel that I’m just wearing baggy clothes all of the time because I can’t dress for my shape. I hate having a big chest and wish I was a size or two smaller- they also are really sore at the moment because of hormones and I find them really heavy and that the bras I have I give no support xxMinimisers aren’t really your friend, they just squash you flat so you look like you have two dinner plates strapped to you. Up and out will give you a better shape - if that’s what you’re looking for - give your torso space and therefore your waist.
34dd isn’t spectacularly big, perhaps get measured at bravissimo or a bra specialist. The idea that D cup is big, came from the 80s page3 D Cup cliche. I went from an M&S C cup to a Bravissimo F cup - don’t be scared of the sizing or dismayed - it did me wonders in terms of healthy safe support for my boobs, plus a good shaper for the rest of me.
Try to embrace and love your shape - a big ask for us ladies sometimes I know - try not to be sucked into the V neck thing. I am now a 36GG (all fat I am not in the least embarrassed to say - my body is what it is) and all of my clothes are high-necked and I strongly favour a shirt buttoned all the way up. You don’t need to follow “rules”.
Yes Iv been looking everywhere for square necklines and I have seen some but I think my bras don’t give me any support at all and so I end up looking really weird! I don’t know if that makes sense! It’s just getting me down because I look in the mirror and feel everything looks wrong on me!! CI do understand how you feel as a 34g, I really don't want them to be the centre of attention but I do find lower necklines more flattering. If I wear polonecks I feel like my tits are coming out my chin!I favour a square neckline, harder to find but I think it's flattering x
If you're a size 8 you definitely aren't a 34dd, im 12/14 and wear a 30 band. Boob or bust recommend that your band measurement should not be over 20 inches plus your dress size, so I'd hazard a guess you will actually be a 26/28 band. Plus cup size, don't be alarmed if you turn out to be f or g or higher. I can totally understand why you want a minimizer bra but if you are properly measured and you can do this at home with a cloth tape, you will find that a well fitted and supportive bra will change your life. I don't know what my exact cup size is now as I don't wear normal bras anymore, I only wear Molke, they are intended for breastfeeding but they are a lifesaver for me who hates clasps and fiddly bits, but they aren't suited to everyone.I think I will see if I can get measured again, like people have suggested and maybe look at a different type of bra instead of a minimiser. Thanks so so much for this! I’m quite shocked but I really want to find out what proper size I am now. I was measured ages ago by marks but the bras never seem to fit right at all, and my armpits seem to go over the top slightly so I know they aren’t sitting right. So I will have a go at this. Definitely don’t go by marks measurement, they are useless! Thanks so so much for this! I’m quite shocked but I really want to find out what proper size I am now. There's also the advice to pull all the boobage into the cup too as poorly fitting bras means they escape, swoop and scoop. If you have an amazon account, they do Amazon wardrobe so you can try before you buy but depends what size they have in stock too. Thanks so so much for this! Agree! I went up to an F cup after being fitted at bravissimo and bought four bras. Such a good investment. Don’t be afraid of the sizes sounding big and no one needs to know the size unless you tell them!Go to Bravissimo for a fitting and invest in a couple of their bras:

I never thought a bra would make a difference in how big mine (DD) or comfort but I felt it as soon as she put the bra on me. Not only that, I turned up looking like a sweaty scruff and was treated like a valued customer of years.
I refuse to shop anywhere else now and will tell fellow busties to do so too till I'm blue in the face.
