I don’t think he did the renovation. They had people in in the end.It’s taken him since they moved there 2 years ago to finish the trims. I also think it’s eerily quiet when she films for a family whose toddler is there when she films. He definitely goes to an outside day care provider when she films. Nobody cares Becky when you have kids and continue to work you need help with day care. I also don’t think she took to motherhood the way she thought she would. It’s just a feeling I get. I wonder if they’ll have more kids?

Do they even have space for a second children's room? Each of them needs their own office, a room for the drums, lots of storage space for whatever.

So, Becky was at a garage sale and vintage sale and proved once again that she simply has bad taste. Aside from the fact that I generally found the quality there rather mediocre, I hate it when she touches everything. She bought cheap jewelry, a broken rolling pin, and a striped pottery box. And for a whopping $65, she bought a stand with a hanging flower pot. The thing is very rusty, the hanging basket can't be removed, and I'm sure the thing will fall over at the first gust of wind. Oooopsie, great finds, Becky.

oh cod, is that another one where she fondles everything and declares things cute, but doesn't actually buy anything? The desperation to find content fillers is palpable. If I want to see thrifting in the Portland area, I tune into Laura Caldwell. She knows you don't show up to a car boot without cash.

I wonder whether one or both of her parents were over bearing, and didn’t let her make her own choices, always knew better, little to no room for free will.

It seems to me that Becky had mental health issues in the past (and probably still does). I think she has to force herself to be tidy. Her rather sparse interior design style is simply meant to prevent things from looking messy. I'm sure the rooms that aren't constantly filmed aren't as tidy. The seedling room is the best example. In the spring, it looked like a bomb had exploded because she had just crammed everything in there. Then she tidied everything up once, and weeks later, it looked the same again, and her mother immediately started cleaning up.

She's also not very decisive. If something doesn't go exactly according to plan, it completely throws her off track. Then she feels overwhelmed again, and instead of making decisions or adjusting her plan, she goes to fold laundry or empty the dishwasher. She also likes to procrastinate. How long did it take her to return the broken vacuum cleaner? I think it took almost six months. The way she constantly seeks approval from Josh is almost unpleasant. With her constant need for approval from others, she's becoming very dependent.

Sometimes I don't know if she sees her mother as a role model or as competition. I find her parents to be very caring and supportive, but not preachy or judgmental. Her mother can be a bit annoying at times when she enjoys her screen time in the vlogs too much, but she's also kind of touching in how she supports Becky. It always surprises me that we hardly see any interaction between Josh and her parents.

Becky is one of the many YouTubers who owe their success to the pandemic. But I don't feel like her channel is continuing to grow. Her vlogs simply lack variety. It's basically a constant rinse and repeat. And when she keeps emphasizing the skills she wants to develop, I don't see much progress. But at the end of the day, we only see what she wants to show, and it's her job, and it's business.

If Josh fixes up the nursery at the same pace as he builds the new chicken coop, the child will already be in college by the time she has a own room.

There’s a Becky bundle available on green stalks website. It’s three hundred dollars for two towers. For a bit of plastic! I think thats expensive especially as you have to water them every single day. I’d rather have a pot. I agree how boring was the last vlog. I’d also have liked to see a few clips from the evening do. That evening dress was way too short!!

And more constant advertising for the Greenstalks, though more of a deterrent, because her strawberry plants look pathetic. Mine are nice and bushy and already have their first blossoms, even though we're still having night frosts.

She tells every story, like the staging of her previous house, at least three times per vlog. And if I hear again that she wants to learn the skill to decorate beautifully, I'll start screaming, yeah. First of all, she has absolutely no taste and a bad eye for shapes and colors. Looking for inspiration on Pinterest is certainly not a bad idea, but it's better to do it before buying a bunch of unsuitable things. I wonder how many months it will take her to return the items or whether she'll just put them in storage.

I was so bored when she was setting the Greenstalks up. I agree her strawberries don't look good. I also think she is way too rough on her plants. I know she has been told this before but just like everything else she doesn't listen.

I was getting extremely annoyed at all the times she repeats herself. It wasn't interesting the first time! I had to keep fast-forwarding.

I think you are right @Catlady1. Procrastination would explain why she is always behind, puts in minimum effort regularly and says she didn't get to something on her plan yet.

I used to think the flurry of activity she does is because she's such a hard-worker but really I think she doesn't love cooking and wants to do everything as fast as possible to be done for the day, or many days usually. I could be wrong though, I usually try to get out of the kitchen as fast as possible too and at least she's feeding her family decent food.

Oh goody, here comes the olive oil story AGAIN.
I actually think having the sister in the videos breaks up the monotonous Becky monologues a bit and makes them more palatable. The ones with the mum and sister are overkill, they are all trying to outdo each other.

She has opened the new gardening season - dispassionately throwing seeds into the pots of soil. Apparently she's trying to put in even less effort than last year. Or as she calls it, she wants to have a lot of fun in the garden with her family.

How far back is the timeline of her vlogs? In her last vlog the chicks were 1.5 weeks old - they should be at least 5 weeks old by now.

She's pulling out more diseased garlic. Even though she was sure some time ago that the problem was caused by overwatering, she didn't reduce the watering; in fact, she continued watering during three days of rain.

Lots of traveling again (one week in Montana with Josh's family, one week out of town with her family), after which her garden will surely be completely out of control again, and she'll certainly feel overwhelmed again and again and again. It's kind of the same story every year.

Josh has been working on the new chicken coop for two weeks. Nothing more than the basic framework is in place yet. The two of them really have one thing in common: they spend more time thinking about the work than actually doing it.

Are any of you still watching, or have you already given up?

Everything on the comments saying they love the testing series of lives!! I personally don’t. Also loads of mushy comments about how cute her and Josh are etc etc. Americans are really bad for para social relationships!

It's crazy how these super fans believe that the vlogs show real life. Basically, most YouTubers are nothing more than self-promoters in scripted reality shows. Becky has found her niche (good for her) and she is moving in it. Even if she sells a lot of things to the audience as if she were stepping out of her comfort zone, it's basically always about the same topics.

And it gets really annoying when her camera-hungry mother comes along with her strange lists and schedules.

I don't want to see any more of her family life, her simpleton husband is enough. The speed at which he renovated the upper floor (and it's still not finished) would have driven me crazy.

And I'm sure Becky has at least a nanny (maybe even a home help) because Josh certainly isn't looking after a toddler while she's filming. So she won't give a real insight into her everyday life because that would damage the image she has created of the hard-working housewife, mother and homestead saint.

I don't envy her success, it's a business that pays her bills and entertains the audience.

I just took a look at her June garden tour, and oh, what a horror. I think her raised beds have never looked so unhealthy and messy. She clearly has a massive pest problem.

Although she now has a composting system for the kitchen, she still throws uncomposted waste into the beds. Until she clears the beds of all the waste, removes the plasticpots and throws out all the infected plants, she won't get rid of her pest problem. Beer traps won't help.

She's already pulled out half of her garlic because the plants are turning brown, the zinnias are dying, and she's already had to reseed most of the beans, melons, and pumpkins. The only thing that seems to be thriving are the potatoes, which have completely overgrown her onions. And when something finally grows, like the tarragon, she pulls it out because she thinks it's a weed.

I also don't understand why she grows so many cut flowers when she's obviously letting the flowers in the bed fade and not harvesting them. Half of the ranunculus and anemones haven't come up anyway. Her chaos gardening method obviously doesn't seem to be very productive and it doesn't look appealing either.

Because she's too lazy to label the plants, she leaves the empty pots with the labels next to the plants, which also looks extremely sloppy.
I can't imagine she spends much time in her garden. Given the current state of the beds, the effort involved in getting tons of compost and pre-germinating the seeds wasn't justified.

Dear Becky, even if you're gardening for vlog content, the end result should still be presentable.

The first thing that came to my mind was whether she even spent six hours in the garden. Obviously, she did, but I'm certainly not going to look into it. I'm afraid of what else she has up her sleeve to lull us to sleep.

Yes there was one woman asking could she do a day in her life with on how your organises her day around working and motherhood. No the channels not about that. There was also some weirdo who called Becky this sweet child. She’s not a child she’s an adult. Maybe it’s like a language thing between the uk and America but in the UK we don’t patronise grown women like this. Lots of her followers are a bit evangelical about her. How marvellous she is how self sacrificing. She’s just a woman who cooks and gardens on the internet and makes a very healthy living. She hasn’t found the cure to cancer nor does she care for abandoned children!!!

It did make me laugh that Josh had decided that he would spend the morning planning the irrigation. Then she said let’s see what Josh is doing with the irrigation and she panned round and said oh he’s feeding the chickens!! Kind of like you see those memes where a woman asks her husband for help round the house because they’ve got guests coming and she wonders where he is a little later and he’s outside cleaning the car and driveway!!Then Josh was begrudgingly shifting soil. I bet they have some humdinger rows! Just the impression I get.

I googled it, and onions are a good companion plant for potatoes. It can work, but I am pretty sure not the way they cramped everything in.
In a homestead setting, where you basically produce the food for your table and crop failure can have an impact (not for Costco Becky though) I do not understand the 'experimenting' approach with stuff that takes one google search to find out. There are dozens of garden planning tools available that will give you the correct spacing for plants, and a list of suitable companion plants as well as gardening tipps.

I hate when she has the parents round for gardening and all she does is bark orders. A couple of times she asked whether she should fetch stuff (kneepad, baskets) from up by the house, but never actually made the gruelling trip. I also don't understand the throwing stuff over the fence.
