Absolute fucking disgrace that his personal information was posted by the media prior to any charges being made! Also disgusting how ALL media outlets have failed to mention that it was himself who rang the emergency services.
I hope he takes them all to the cleaners.

So I read that the driver has been released without charge? If so, I awful for him. The media has already named him and posted his photo, and people are calling him a murderer. It seems the media has learned nothing since what happened to Christopher Jeffries.

I heard the trailer had been waiting to be collected for 2 days. Apparently drivers can be sent to collect them and they're not allowed to open them. I think its bang out of order for the media to name and show his picture when questioning is in the early stages. The guy could be completely innocent.

I think people that use nail bars and car washes where the staff obviously shady have blood on their hands. This is all making me sick.

I wasn't surprised they were Chinese and Vietnamese, these are the most common nationalities in forced labour.

They’re not. They choose to come here. Maybe under false pretences, but they’re not kidnapped and put in the van. They pay these people to bring them here because they think they’ll have a better life and can support their families

They must have enough evidence in order to charge him, and subsequently go to trial depending on his plea.
I think he knew exactly what was in his lorry, why else would he pull in a mile down the road and break the seal on the trailer? Paperwork would either be on a tablet or in the cab. He pulled in to let them out, found them all dead and had no choice but to phone the emergency services.

Its awfully sad. So many people risk everything to come here hoping for a better life only (in a lot of cases) to be treated like dirt and suffer racism.

or end up as modern day slaves like im sure those poor people were destined for..working for a pitance which then has to be paid to gang masters to cover their debt of getting them here .
its so sad ..i work and id struggle to get £1000 saved up let alone £30k ..they must have some drive to be able to save that thinking you'll be getting a better life ..what a tragic waste of a young life (and all the others) x

i was walking through Liverpool st station this morning and overheard some bloke talking on his phone to someone about this incident. i actually heard him.say what kind of stupid person gets into refrigerated trailer to try and sneak into the country ...err desperate people i would imagine ! i doubt that they knew the refrigeration would actually be on probably just thought they would be hiding in it until they got here.
i dont know how i didnt punch him ...whatever your views on immigration/refugees etc how can you not be moved or affected by these tragic deaths

I was one of them sadly! Well, I wasn't exactly "free Mo" and changing my profile pic etc but I knew Mo briefly years ago through mutual friends and he was a nice, quiet guy. I just didn't think he had it in him. I was genuinely so shocked when truth came out. First to admit and hold my hands up he had me fooled. Quiet ones you need to watch! Hope he gets what he deserves and a long, lengthy sentence the scumbag.

Interesting to see the Warrington couple have a hairdressers/nail bar. I know of them through friends of friends, loaded with no class. If you look at her videos of her son on YouTube rapping to Stormzy is 72 years old and the language she lets him use.

I'm thinking the driver had nothing to do with it, he was just the one paid to drive.
A human trafficking gang I'm thinking, and this poor lad was the innocent victim.

This story is heartbreaking, those poor people. Regarding the 30k cost as being reported, from what I've read this isn't paid upfront. Rather the families will pay a deposit or the smugglers will loan them the money, and the smuggled person then has to work off the loan once they arrive in the UK. Often they are forced to work in nail bars, restaurants, factories, brothels etc. Horrific and those who traffic people are the lowest of the low

I agree with some of the theories here. He definitely didn’t intentionaly cause these people harm. And, it would have been a terrible shock for him opening up the container and seeing that... no wonder he fainted. I also believe he shouldn’t have been named and photographed in the media so soon.

However something that’s crossed my mind. He may have been wanting to earn some extra cash, especially with the arrival of twins and may have been lured by the temptation of some “easy money” to transfer these people here. This probably goes on a lot more than we realise and probably has quite a high success rate. We only hear about the bad stuff or the people that get caught. Something is amiss to me with this whole thing. Why would he go and open the container half an hour after collecting it. These things aren’t to be tampered with. I hope he is innocent but this all seems like murky business. I read that gangs traffic poor Chinese citizens and bring them here to work in nail bars, massage parlours and as prostitutes or slaves. Not suggesting the lorry driver is involved with this directly. Just that he was maybe aware or them and was transporting them under the orders of someone for a hefty sum of cash.

Just a theory. I hope justice is served for these poor souls, may they rest in peace.

Most of us here knew he was guilty and knew about the people.

I hope he tells on all the other people involved.

Why were they ever put in an airtight container?

Apparently some of the families received a refund before even hearing of their death.

They say hundreds if not thousands are making the journey at the moment so worrying times to those who have family members that are uncontactable.

I hope things tighten up alot now.

I may be being really naive here, but is £30,000 not a huge sum of money to people in such countries. If they are able to find the funds why is their drive to come to come to another country in such awful conditions and risking their life so strong. I understand that China restrict who leaves, but does Vietnam do the same?

Some don't have to pay anything but will be sold as sex slaves upon arrival.
Some do have the cash to pay but will receive free education, housing and healthcare for their families. £30,000 is very cheap to get all that for your family in most countries.

Where did you read the driver had been released without charge? Last I read was that he was still being held and questioned by police?

Here in NI they are reporting he is still being questioned and 2 houses are being searched by the PSNI (apparently his and his mothers). My brother is an ex-lorry driver and knows the company who owns the lorry and employs him, well known for being dodgy. Said there will 100% be more to this story .

Might not have known they were dead - again, just looking at the other side of the potential story.

Why did he open it if it was sealed at the side of the road? He was (allegedly) checking his paperwork but if it were sealed you can’t open it before it’s reached it’s end destination. (OH used to unload lorries of this nature in a previous job)

Ive just read that the trailer was registered locally to him, he has the cab in his name. Just too much coincidence. Again, could be innocent but maybe he knew and had parked up to let them out, saw they were deceased and panicked Why was the paperwork in the trailer as alleged? That should be with the driver.

Just come up on Sky that Robinson has been charged with 39 counts of Manslaughter.
I am on the fence with this, they either have enough evidence, or due to how long they can keep him for, have gone for holding charges whilst they continue the investigation

They can’t usually charge unless they have sufficient evidence can they? I thought it was up to the CPS to say yay or nay they can charge or release once the evidence has been presented

*edit* just asked a family member who is in the police. The CPS would have advised they have enough evidence to charge
