Saw this on the news. So horrific. Likely migrants trying to flee for a better life and end up dying so terribly. I have seen some absolutely vile comments today on SM about how "well at least it is less people to come to the UK" etc.

I don't know what can be done to deal with these crime rings that endanger people's lives.

So I read that the driver has been released without charge? If so, I awful for him. The media has already named him and posted his photo, and people are calling him a murderer. It seems the media has learned nothing since what happened to Christopher Jeffries.

Absolute bleeping disgrace that his personal information was posted by the media prior to any charges being made! Also disgusting how ALL media outlets have failed to mention that it was himself who rang the emergency services.
I hope he takes them all to the cleaners.

Where did you read the driver had been released without charge? Last I read was that he was still being held and questioned by police?

Here in NI they are reporting he is still being questioned and 2 houses are being searched by the PSNI (apparently his and his mothers). My brother is an ex-lorry driver and knows the company who owns the lorry and employs him, well known for being dodgy. Said there will 100% be more to this story .

Silly me, I thought people were linking to an article talking about that but it seems it was just people chatting in general. First time I have ever posted something without verifying. Grr. But still, I don't think his name and photo should be out there yet.

No definitely not. I agree. Even in cases where guilt is likely I dont think anyone should be named publicly until there is a trial etc. Not just for the person involved but their families

I feel so awful for him if he is innocent. I can't imagine the damage that would do to you mentally, and if it is true that he discovered the bodies then that would be even more scarring. I had a look at his SM and he looks totally normal but I guess we have to wait and see.

I heard the trailer had been waiting to be collected for 2 days. Apparently drivers can be sent to collect them and they're not allowed to open them. I think its bang out of order for the media to name and show his picture when questioning is in the early stages. The guy could be completely innocent.

Yes. If the temperature of the fridge is at what it should be, he doesn't need to open the trailer. If he is innocent, I don't know how he will recover from this.

Some guy said he used to work for the company and refrigerated or not, they weren't allowed to open them. I don't know how he will either if he's innocent. Those poor people in the trailer, it's so sad!

On the news this morning, he is still in custody and police are searching two homes in Ireland.
For the police to name him so early on, I think they must know more about him than they are telling the public.

I don’t understand why he’s been named. It’s so wrong. He has the right to remain anonymous surely?

My brother would put money on it. He knows other lads who drive for that employer and he said stay tuned this wont be the end of it. There are men you would drive for and men you never would and he said that employer u wouldn't touch with a barge pole as u dont know what u would be getting into.

That's roughly along the same lines as I've heard someone say too. I still don't think he should've been named yet though.
