Just me who always liked retro stuff as well, then... 🤣

Pretty sure they'll avoid the TOTP from around my 18th birthday (February 2004), since Lostprophets were in the top 10 that week...
I think they do occasionally just cut out an offending artist/song if it's easy enough - apparently they did this the other month, but then had to shelve the episode last minute because Scott Mills was presenting. They skipped a lot of 1998 (?) completely because Diddy and R Kelly were all over the charts at the same time. :(

Listening to Ashanti. I noticed she loves using the word "baby" in her songs.

Her songs Baby and Rock wit U (Awww Baby) even have it in the title, and it seems like most of her biggest hits use the word somewhere in the lyrics.

Once you notice it, you can't unhear it.

The mention of Clinton Cards also reminded me that my ex worked in Card Factory at one point 🤣

Yeah I think as long as it's not number one they can cut it out. Summer 03 will be a write off due to R Kelly Ignition being at no 1 for ages 😭. And the last episode in 06 will be consigned to the bin as I remember Saville turning off the lights at the end of the show 🤮

I’ve just watched the BBC England 06 doc (for the vibes, not the football) and the nostalgia is killing me 😭

I was 20 at the time so I’m definitely looking back with rose tinted glasses but bloody hell I can’t believe it was 20 years ago.

Also I am glad to see that Ashley Cole has aged terribly. That’s the karma you get for cheating on the nation’s sweetheart xoxo
I'm sure karma has better things to do than avenge the nation's sweet hooligan. I guess that fits in with the nostalgia theme.

"No remorse".

You can find comfort in the fact that even without his scissors it would have broken soon after by itself I guess 🤣

I think he's an absolute bellend, but I think he looks great and has aged really well.

BBC iplayer put that documentary on which originally got Stacey Dooley noticed back in 2008. Even if she is a bit of a twonk now you can see how she was the breakout star from it.

But got me thinking about BBC3 in the 00's. The target audience was teens and early 20's, but they absolutely seemed to hate their own viewer demographic. Every programme was about how shit young people all were, how can we humiliate them, what situations can we put them in where they all look like whiney brats.

But for some reason, even though I was that age, I guess I lapped it up.
