Groovy Chick was everywhere in the 2000s, I'm assuming its mostly disappeared now.

The other thing that was everywhere, and does seem to have stuck around a bit were Me To You bears.
Clinton cards stuff was iconic! Who remembers the bubblegum characters? 'Nutty tart' ect 🤣

BBC iplayer put that documentary on which originally got Stacey Dooley noticed back in 2008. Even if she is a bit of a twonk now you can see how she was the breakout star from it.

But got me thinking about BBC3 in the 00's. The target audience was teens and early 20's, but they absolutely seemed to hate their own viewer demographic. Every programme was about how shit young people all were, how can we humiliate them, what situations can we put them in where they all look like whiney brats.

But for some reason, even though I was that age, I guess I lapped it up.
I think it was BBC3 but possibly E4, I was obsessed with the show Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents. Used to watch it to get hyped for my teen holidays to Magaluf and Zante 😂

Fun, uplifting pop music. I feel like the early - mid 00s was the last time music in general vibed happy.

I miss that a lot.

I’ve just watched the BBC England 06 doc (for the vibes, not the football) and the nostalgia is killing me 😭

I was 20 at the time so I’m definitely looking back with rose tinted glasses but bloody hell I can’t believe it was 20 years ago.

Also I am glad to see that Ashley Cole has aged terribly. That’s the karma you get for cheating on the nation’s sweetheart xoxo

Pretty sure they'll avoid the TOTP from around my 18th birthday (February 2004), since Lostprophets were in the top 10 that week...

Yes he was the one I wanted to know about too! I think they stopped following him quite early on? Don't remember him in the teenage years?
A 30 year update would be good, but would probably only attract the show-off tik tok types!
Don’t. These kids being 30 soon?!
We’re old AF

Remember when our parents used to put ‘old’ shows on when we were kids and we’d be like ‘ew this is shit, I hate this old timey stuff, it’s so old fashioned’? I think we’ve finally turned into them.
i remember my dad putting TOTP2 on when i was a kid in the 00s and thinking “why are you watching the OLD stuff?” … i get it now 😂

This is more 10s than 00s but I’ve just randomly remembered those rhinestone and plastic crap covered phone cases you’d get in Japanese shops. I remember getting one from the Japanese shop in Eldon Square in Newcastle when I was at uni (mine was less blingy than the one in the photo). It scratched the sides of my phone and was near impossible to get on and off.
