The last thread was on page 70(!) so thought I better make a new one 😁

Has anyone seen this guy on Tiktok? He does recaps of films I loved and thought were totally normal in the late 90s/early 00s

Have we talked about Embarrassing Bodies yet?

”I’m going to talk about how terrible my ailment is to camera for 10 minutes. How I can’t go out the house because of it or possibly tell anyone about it because it’s so awful…… and then I’m going to show it to the entire country.”

I love how there were so many different kinds of phones back then - we were spoilt for choice! Now you either have an iPhone or Android (usually Samsung I think?) so boring!

To think kids have settled for brainrot on their devices instead of the classic tv shows we grew up with.

Slightly pre 00s, more like 98/99 but gonna throw it in anyway since it's close enough....the Sunny Delight craze. Original 2 flavours were the Florida and California ones. I preferred California.
Remember the myth if you drank too much of it your skin turned orange? 😂

You know you're getting old when you look forward to what's on BBC Four. I've been LOVING the Xmas Top of the pops episodes. Last week was 1996 with The Spice Girls presenting and Wednesday is 2002, with 1998 next week ☺🥳

I really really miss Sugar magazine. And More! But Sugar was my go to!
Looking at the what's hot pages of cheap nail Polish and body glitter!

I'm sure there was also one that was "what I spent in a day" and people would list everything they bought. I loved that!

A colleague has just announced that she wasn't even born when the first Lord of The Rings film was released (2001) and now I feel ancient 😅😅

I loved the variety of mobile phones, all the different designs and they had a bit of personality. Now all phones are just the same.

Remember when Cath Kidston had a range with Nokia? I had the top middle one and loved it! I still have it and it works... would love to buck the trend and use retro mobile phones again.

Yep - flip phones. Phone cases. Snake game on Nokia 3310. Those ads in mags for ringtones where you texted in a code and got a song as a ringtone.

There was that odd Euro-pop invasion in the 00's where certain songs would just be everywhere -

Big Brother is up there with the Millennium Dome as a turn of the millennium icon.

I remember how hyped everyone was at its uniqueness.

I never got into it much though. Just a bunch of normies bumming around all day.
Coming home from the pub or a night out, sitting on the sofa and just watching people in a house at any time of day or night - looking back, a tad weird but as you say - iconic at the time!
