I was a Forever living rep 5 years ago - they got me at a really vulnerable time in my life, single mum, PND and in loads of debt and I generally believed I was going to be earning a 6 figure income one day with it. The amount of messages I was told to send (all copy and paste!) desperately trying to recruit was horrific, spamming like crazy. I scraped my way to their first promotion (supervisor) by spending £150 (which I couldn't afford) on products for myself! I did everything I was told, missing family events to do presentations for my teams friends and family etc, I was up at 6am everyday doing 'mindset training'. I was told to go to the car garage and test drive my dream car, so I did (Range rover - obv lol. Still my dream car though tbf!) I did all the ridiculous 'I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS MONTH!' posts and how I loved my commute to my office - downstairs in my PJ's (vom). I went to every success day, every training event (all cost me money and time away from my daughter) and I hosted business presentations once a week at one of their product centres, having to get babysitter. I generally worked my arse off. This was for nearly 2 years and my biggest pay I ever received in 1 month was £200. When I eventually said enough was enough I can't do it anymore, I was told my mindset was bad and I didn't obviously want it bad enough. I feel sick thinking back to what I was like, and no idea how I kept all my friends lol!
Just had an influx of messages on IG about joining Valentis or something - seems to be some sort of weight loss coffee! Apparently it's new to the UK so I can 'take the UK by storm'. I'm good thanks

This maybe a really stupid question but what is MLM's 🙈🙈
Younique, juice plus, essential oil huns. The people
You've not heard from in ages that want you to be "Boss Babe" and start your own business. But it's not your own business your just selling shit and picking on the vunerable.

Someone I know was selling NuSkin with one with the viral mud mask. She messaged asking if I wanted to buy some shampoo & I have no hair. I lost it all & I hasn't grew back. I wear wigs. But her shampoo can fix that 😂😂

Got added on Facebook by an "MLM hun" trying to sell me Juice plus by the looks of things. She asked me what my health goals for the year were, (if she had even bothered to look at my profile she would see I'm pregnant and would defo not be interested in taking supplements) so I just replied "aw hi, tbh my goals for this year are pushing this baby out without ripping hole to hole 👍"

She unfriended me without replying 😂

I don’t need your advice. You don’t know how I’m running my business. I am not stupid

But at the heart of it, it’s not your business. You’re bound by the products they produce for you to sell, it’s not like you can diversify. They tell you what to sell and how to sell it. You are basically a sales rep.

If they decided to pull the plug tomorrow, as they could easily do, where would ‘your’ business be then? You’d have nothing. Please, whatever else, do not be under any illusion that this is your own business, because it’s not.

Take it from someone who knows. I’ve been there and done it. Which is why I’m so passionate about opening peoples eyes to this.

I thought Juice Plus had died a death and had been taken over by Body Shop at Home and that Lumi Spa thing but no I’m constantly getting “Hello honey hope you’re doing well I’m just wondering if you’ve heard of Juice Plus” messages I don’t care if they’re less than the price of takeaway coffee a day I’m not buying appetite suppressants off the girl who called me a slag in school it was fifteen years ago but I hold a grudge.

To call selling MLM having your own business is kind of an insult to people who do actually have their own business

I also think Avon products are affordable.

if you watch the MLM programme you will see that one of the companies on there are selling deodorant for somewhere around £7-£15. I can’t remember exactly how much but all the products were ridiculous In price.
Yes definitely affordable plenty of 99p items. I have a street with lots of elderly customers and they rely on me to order all their toiletries as they can't get out much. I have been known to deliver bread and milk with the order. They are the reason I won't quit, I even pop round to check on them in bad weather / snow etc.I only ever intended to do it for a bit of maternity leave income😂 I am fully back at work now and it was so much easier when I could chuck all the brochures and parcels under the double buggy and do a quick drop. Now I end up going inside and chatting for half an hour with every customer 😜😜

No idea but it really stresses me out - there's a great documentary about them on iPlayer.
I think maybe because of how much money they are making? Because they are selling 'products' it makes it seem more legitimate.

I know people who have been (and are) really successful with it but also seen how much some people struggle. I can't believe there isn't more done about it though.
It drives me up the wall. Since having a baby half my friends list has been sucked in. It’s all inspirational posts and talking about how everyone should sell these products. It’s so obvious that the real money is in your down line. I just feel it’s really icky how they’re so obviously using people for their own gain...often vulnerable people

So rude. If I want to call it a business I will. You did not need to comment

Perfume is not copyrighted. They have a logo and a number. High street shops are doing this with designer clothes day in and day out it’s not illegal
I prefer "factual" rather than "rude", and did you miss the part where I said that I was glad it was working out for you?

FM is a MLM, aka a pyramid scheme. There is no dressing it up as anything else and if I'm going to be accused of being rude, I might as well be genuinely rude. FM is someone's business alright, but it's definitely not yours and if you think otherwise, I'm afraid you're deluded. I can call the sky green if I want to, but that doesn't make it true, does it?

I would urge you to read up on FM and other MLMs and in particular, how they work and only make money for the people in the upper tiers. It hasn't been updated since last year, but Timeless Vie is a great blog to start with

Alexis (completely explains your massive attitude problem)
I know what MLM is, I don’t see what your problem is. People are free to buy whatever they want from who they want.
I’ll also be factual. I am making money - you are not. My down lines are making money - you are not and my upline is making a whole load of money. So thank you for your concern sweetie but while I’m making money for not doing much I’m gonna carry on.
Alexis is a fictional character from a Canadian sitcom. Not sure how this explains my alleged massive attitude problem?

You know nothing about me or how I make my money so that's speculation on your part rather than fact, "sweetie".

I wished you well in my original post and meant it. I've seen so many friends suckered into MLMs (including FM) and seen them come out of the other side broken, in debt and with far fewer friends after constantly trying to recruit them. I genuinely hope this doesn't happen to you but I'll say it again, FM is not your business. Keep your eyes wide open and enjoy completing the tax returns for all your amazing profits. For avoidance of doubt, that is not sarcasm.

My friend has starting selling younique, she has changed so much! Spouting all this crap on fb about being your own boss and how the products are the best thing ever, no they aren't, they are over priced tat!
She's told to post 5 posts a day on her fb page to get interaction.
I've had to change my fb settings so I see less of her!

Ladies what if I told you that this week I banked £500 (after tax!) I was able to take my kids to school and pick them up, make them dinner, keep my house clean, choose my own hours that suited me and be at home with a full face of make up to greet my husband??!! Sounds to good to be true right? It's not though...

It's called a job.

I work from home (like most people nowadays with office jobs do).

Maybe with the world changing like it has more of these huns will just get normal office jobs where they can work from home and stop destroying their friendships for the sake of being able to work and pick the kids up!

Just noticed that Vicky Pattison is involved in that travel MLM. Loads of posts about joining her team but hardly any information about actual holidays or how to book them. How does someone with a following of her size get away with promoting this shit?

I feel like I should be sat with a bag of popcorn watching the drama on my local selling site. Someone trying to recruit and this guy just posts some anti mlm post and the mlm women are kicking off. It’s slander! It’s DEFORMATION. (I don’t have the heart to tell her it’s defamation) and she will have him charged. It’s gold!!!
