I said in the Tati thread that Shane’s body language in his live was very telling. Both he and Ryland pacing around with hands on back of head, panting heavily, Shane with hands on his mouth chanting “oh my god”, shrieking “she’s not even crying real tears” (she was) These boys are scared of the truth to come out.
It’s going to be very interesting what happens.

I’ve been following this way to closely on Twitter/YouTube.
I don’t like Tati, I don’t trust Tati, I think Tati was so jealous of James and his success she willingly agreed to the plan set out by Jeffree and Shane. She might regret it now but consumed with jealousy I think she happily sat down to film her bye sisters upload.
I do believe Jeffree and Shane were behind it, but Tati can drop the little girl charity worker act.
I think there’s still more to this than we know, and I think it all leads back to Jeffree star and a business deal he had going on. I think he wanted both Tati and James out of the picture
I don’t think Jeffree knows how to tell the truth. And Shane has always been dodgy as fuck.

I also think people are too quick to just dismiss this as beauty guru drama.
It should open up much needed glass elevator discussions about how men are so quick to rise in stereotypically female dominated industries, even when proved to be problematic.

Who is Tati?
Tati Westbrook is a well known American beauty guru. She two companies: Halo Beauty Vitamins and Tati Beauty. Fairly unscandelous as far as I'm aware apart from overuse of filter on her videos. Apart from this drama of course.
Who is Jeffree Star?
Influencer and cosmetic range owner Jeffree Star (often referred to as J*). J* has a depressingly high list of scandals and drama which can be found here. People believe he has escaped being "cancelled" and got through so much drama fairly unscathed because he holds so much power. The theories mostly centre around him having evidence he can use to blackmail other influencers, many also believe he is a co owner of cosmetics range Morphe. For awhile he was the highest subscribed to beauty channel, famous for saying phrases such as "can't relate" and generally being involved in drama, particularly with other brands.
Also credited with starting Dramageddon 1 which cancelled multiple youtubers and led to Laura Lee's infamous apology video. A summary can be found here

James Charles is another beauty influencer that rose to fame quickly at a fairly young age. A couple of years ago he posted a photo of him retaking his senior yearbook photo with "extra" makeup. From there he just took off somehow, and became the face of CoverGirl. His YouTube is probably one of the fastest growing ever. He also has a Morphe collab in the form of a palette. James has had a fair few scandals including a tweet about Ebola, and generally seen as little obnoxious. Also famous for calling everyone "sister" i.e. "hi sisters"

Shane Dawson is one of the OG famous YouTubers. Originally making comedy videos he branched into a film, and then documentaries including conspiracy theories, and collabs with YouTubers including: Graveyard Girl, Eugenia Cooney, Jake Paul, and of course Jeffree Star. Shane has also had more than his fair share of scandals including paedophilic comments towards underage Willow Smith, creepy sexual comments about his cat, and blackface. He has recently made an apology video renouncing this.
How are they all connected?
James became friends with Tati when he was still a relatively small influencer. From there the friendship grew with her as a bit of a "mother" figure to him in the community, probably because of the difference in age and experience. They were pretty close with James doing Tati's make up for her wedding, and being invited to her birthday dinner.
Tati later befriended J* who then introduced her to Shane Dawson, who he was filming a documentary series with at the time. Shane and J* also collabed on a makeup palette called "conspiracy" due to Shane's famous youtube series.
J* seemed to perhaps be friends with James Charles, and helped run his merch line. He did however seem highly threatened by James' growing popularity which was starting to overtake his own.
Okay but why is any of this relevant?
Last year James promoted hair vitamin company Sugarbear Hair on his Instagram, in return for security at Coachella. This upset Tati as he had previously refused to promote her competitive brand Halo Beauty.

Even though she comes across as dramatic and fake a lot of the time, I buy Tati's story. I buy that she's scared for her safety, and I buy the legal 'threats' she's making - I have no doubts that she has the receipts she's claiming to.
I'm by no means a Tati fan, and to be honest everybody involved seems like a nightmare narcissist I'd cross the road to avoid, but Jeffree and Shane are a level or several above the rest. Jeffree's a seething, malevolent and frightening person. I can't pretend I'm not slightly looking forward to watching his reaction from a safe vantage point though.

I knew there was something shady about Shane when he declared he was working on a palette. Man can’t even wash his face properly, let alone blend and contour.
I can’t stand Tati. She’s thirsty for the attention. She got what she wanted last year with the ‘Bye Sister’ for like a week. She’s now backtracking as it massively backfired on her.
I don’t doubt that Shane and Jeffree encouraged and did plot to bring down James but Tati is a grown arse woman who is a pro at crocodile tears.

I'm totally loving all this. I'll preface with two things. First I don't like any of the main players, second, I'm not into hounding anyone to the point of damaging their mental health, BUT, I would be delighted to see Shane and Jeffree lose their platforms.
I think Shane has always been a shitty person. I also think he's weak and impressionable. I think he's been played by Jeffree for so long, he thinks they are friends. I don't think Jeffree feels the same. I think Shane who already had it in him to be shitty, was dragged into Jeffree's even shittier world.
I believe everything Tati says. I believe she was mad at James, and those fires were stoked by Shane and Jeffree. I do not find it hard to believe Jeffree can manipulate a grown woman. I imagine, he's absolutely charming, generous and the light of anyone's life when he wants to be. He masquerades as a shoulder to cry on, someone who will be on your side, you know that friend, we've all had them at some point, they goad you, they tell you're right to be mad, even when you're not, the devil on your shoulder. Grown people are manipulated all the time. Riled up, encouraged, supported, made to feel like they are doing the right thing. I also think her latest video wasn't prompted by Shane already getting shit for other things, I think it was prompted because she was getting tonnes of shit about why she was keeping quiet. All that said, I'm still not a fan.
Jeffree Star is the worst, I absolutely loathe him, he's a snake, he's a racist, he's a blackmailer, he's all thats wrong, and I'm really shocked at how little flack he's taking compared to Shane.

Aw man... I'll admit I am COMPLETELY ENTHRALLED by all of this, same when Bye Sister came out. I was a fan of Shane and Jeffree at that time, and kinda thought James was a bit irritating so I was pumped after that video.
BUT I honestly believe Tati that Jeffree was the driving force of the Bye Sisters video in the sense that Tati may have aired a random problem she had with James and Jeffree and Shane took that as an opportunity to hype her up on it and therefore stomp on James' career as James was becoming VERY popular and well liked and on track to become #1 beauty channel on youtube.
This doesn't lessen Tati's involvement as she still pulled the trigger. I do believe she felt empowered and manipulated by Jeffree and Shane and perhaps believed some of the lies, so in a way felt James deserved a sort of wake up call and that he might listen to her.
