I think her family have tried though, she doesnt appear to be close to her mum, her step mum or younger brothers, we dont see her older brother as much either. However the person has to want to leave. It also takes on average I think 7 times for someone to leave an abusive relationship.

In my experience over bearing and controlling men can sniff out women who are vulnerable and it seems that has happened here. Hannah had lost her Dad and wasn't in a great place and along came Lewis.
