I grow to dislike Paul Hollywood more and more. Pru is not far behind either.
He was unnecessarily unpleasant to Josh about his cake. It’s fine to critique the flavour and the bake, but their show stopper was supposed to be based on an elevated version of their first ever bake. He could have said that he felt Josh had delivered more exciting flavours in other rounds, the boring comment was not needed.

It’s clear PH will cling onto GBBO until the death because without it he doesn’t have a TV career. He’s just not likeable enough to front other programmes as they’ve all bombed. He has such an inflated sense of his own worth I imagine he’s difficult to work with. And a total walking cliche - as soon as he gets a bit of fame he ditches his wife of 15 years for a younger model 🙄

Complained to offcom, sick of Paul Hollywood always being completely biased to the young and pretty. It’s gross. Last week they had to think about consistent baking and then this week?

That whole episode felt set up and I thought it was extremely telling when Chrystelle thanked Jürgen for how much she'd learned from him. He was so obviously head and shoulders above everyone else.

I often find the decisions frustrating on Bake Off though when older, less photogenic but better bakers are eliminated to leave the young pretty ones. Sadly this is very far from the first time it's happened and it leaves a bad taste. I'm still just as annoyed two days later!

There's no one this year that really makes me want to root for them, no one I've loved since day one and really wanted in the final.

Josh is sweet and seems to just get on with things without any drama, so for that reason alone he's my favourite this year.

I’ve been watching old Bake Off episodes as they’ve been airing on Food Network, and it made me realise how weird the two tier judging system is now. It’s like Prue defers to Paul every time and only his opinion matters? It never used to be like that with Mary.

They need to change it up somehow, so it’s not all about who gets a handshake from Paul, or get some new judges in.

Juergen giving a lot of love to Noel and Matt on Twitter this morning. I’d say they are very much part of the gang.

I think Chigs just calls a spade a spade which I enjoy, it counteracts everyone else bipping on about their Nan’s dead hyacinth plant.

Actually gutted that they got rid of someone consistently of a higher standard (and judged to one as well) but kept someone who kept using miso and piped roses for every showstopper.
I know there’s more important things, but STILL.

Honestly, what was so wrong with excelling at the basics with a twist? Victoria sponge, lemon drizzles, birthday cakes, barely a bit of bread in bloody bread week!! Chocolate week? Tea parties….

Dan’s smugness reached new levels. Just watched last night’s and came to read the comments. No one has mentioned his comment to Josh when he won:
“Well done Pal you deserve that: you’ve been knocking on my door for ages. Well done.”

Rightio, so you’re the one to beat then Dan?

Cristy was irritating as hell. Bit sick of them treating Saku like she’s there to help their comedy routines. Realised that Josh creeps me out a bit. Didn’t like Tasha’s behaviour. Thought Matty was lucky to survive. All in all, no one I’m rooting for.
