do you give it out to family and friends? the reason I ask is because I was watching a vlog and they had the password written on a pinboard.

Yes, I couldn't understand why one wouldn't if someone asked for it and I'd find it very bizarre if I went to someone's house and they refused to give it out if asked.

Saying that, I wouldn't have it as decoration in my house. I have a photo of the back of my router saved on my phone.

Well maybe if they were downloading dodgy things or going on weird websites that could cause a bug into your network. I'd like to think anyone who was in my house wishing to use my wifi wouldn't be doing that.

IMO the world has gone a bit mad if you refuse your Mum your wifi code :ROFLMAO:

I wish more people would put it on a board! I always feel embarrassed about asking for someone’s WiFi password 😂

Yes we give it to all our family and friends and my phone automatically connects in all of their houses too. I don't have any friends or family I wouldn't trust with my wifi password 😂

I think it’s a good idea! all my nieces and nephews always want the WiFi code and are always fiddling with the router to get the code because their devices always forget it. It saves that back and forth of:
'okay first it's P Q C'
'P Q 3?'
'P Q C!'
'P Q P?'
'P Q bleeping C you dippy sod!'
'...is that with capital letters?'
(sound of soul dying)

I have it spelled out in magnets on my fridge for any Friends or family to use when they are round.

I’ve never heard of anyone not giving it out. Why would you trust someone enough to bring them into your house but not trust them with your WiFi password? Makes no sense to me.
Why would you invite someone into your home if you think there is any chance they are going to hack your network?

I was at a friends yesterday and we realised that iPhones have a WiFi password sharing thing built in.
When i went to input the password she got a popup allowing her to share the password.

Thought it was quite cool, saves messing about trying to find it.

My neighbour doesn’t have WiFi, her daughter came home from living abroad & kept asking for our password, we have so many devices in our home I kept saying no, she eventually got the password from my husband, fast forward a few weeks & the WiFi is soooo slow, I decided to change the password, within an hour I got a txt from neighbours daughter asking why MY WiFi isn’t working, don’t get me wrong I don’t mind sharing with people in my own home but she was taking the piss, especially if she was downloading something she shouldn’t be it would be us in trouble not her!

I stupidly gave my ours out to the next door neighbour she is a pretty demanding scary lady (hear her screaming at her kids), her wifi was disconnected or something and couldn't get it sorted till her husband can home a few days later. Saying her sons disabilities mean he doesn't understand etc put on the spot I went and wrote it down. No thankyou nothing just snatched.
My partner played hell with the what ifs etc
But agreed to change it in 3 weeks to give them grace and no hassle. Which we did.
Neighbour came saying she can't get on it, thank god my partner was home he just come out with how many devices can your disabled son use listing what was trying to connect to our wifi and that her husband was home for 2weeks. Goodbye

I don't understand why you would need to be using someone's WiFi if you were visiting them?! If they are that boring that you need the internet, leave!

I let anybody have the WiFi password if they come to visit. Technology has come so far and the signal in my house is more often than not non existent, that I like to think they can be contacted even via facebook/FaceTime if they’re connected to my WiFi.

I've never considered putting it up for visitors but that's not a bad idea. But if I was a vlogger I'd be hiding that.
I've only had friends say about WiFi if I've been staying at their house. For example, staying at a friends house abroad and they gave the pw. I would hesitate to give to family and friends if they asked though, I think everyone assumes everyone has unlimited or a lot of data but some people don't and I'm paying for the WiFi regardless. Sounds hella stingy to not if someone asked.
