Gave up my job I was in for 12 years, and went to uni for the first time at age 37. Graduated at 40, during the pandemic, with a first class degree.

I'm fed up of feeling like I'm not where I want to be in life, so lets celebrate what we have done well.

My biggest achievement is probably plucking up the courage to start my degree, and being on track for a 1st class honours!

My academic achievements (BSc, MSc, PhD) feel pretty special , but solo parenting premature twins during a pandemic as I left my abusive partner feels pretty good! They're turning one soon. Honestly, I don't know how I've survived the last year on my own, but I have! And I have two very happy little people keeping me going

My daughter. You would not believe the people who told me outright I shouldn’t have her. I’ve moved away now but I wish I could show them how well we’ve done. She is the light of my life.

Getting a 2:1 honours degree in computer sciences (when my dad originally said I was "wasting my time!")

and second, telling my parents I was a lesbian at 15

I still want to achieve more, but those two are my most proudest moments thus far

Getting my degree in politics and sociology 4 years ago (omg! Time has gone so fast)

Doing a PhD which I will hopefully pass and become a Dr in 2 years time.

All down to hard-work and determination after leaving school at 16 with nothing and living with depression/anxiety.

Not a big deal for most people but leaving home at 18 and going to university is actually my biggest achievement - I’d never even spent more than a couple of nights away from my parents before I went, and even now I’m shocked/proud at how quickly I settled in. It really was the best thing I ever did. I was such a anxious and socially awkward teen before I left home. Also my degrees are big achievements obviously, and getting a 1st class degree

Living on my own.
Seems silly but I moved straight out of my parents and in with an ex. When it ended I was alone and it’s been difficult being the only provider and the loneliness but the fact I am independent is something I am proud of!

Meeting my husband, and birthing and raising two beautiful, amazing boys. I felt like my life had no purpose before I met my husband and we had them. I was in a really bad place, prepared to end my life it was such a dark time, and was just starting to pick myself back up when I met their dad. Having my own family, one that was supportive of each other and loving, has given my life the meaning that it lacked.

It might sound cliche, but it’s the truth. I’d be lost without them. Even on the days where I’m struggling mentally, they keep me grounded and busy.

My BA, MSc and MA. I left home at 16 with no qualifications and nowhere to live so I’ve come a long way since then.
I’m proud of learning to drive eventually, after a struggle with intrusive thoughts that convinced me that if I drove I would kill someone.
Recently I’ve found little things that I’d proud of that probably wouldn’t be significant things to other people. Today I had to go and start my husbands car as it’s been sitting for some time while he is away. It’s a manual fancy high powered performance car and I only learnt automatic. Just remembering to engage the clutch to turn it on felt like a massive deal. I then sat in it for a while like a kid pretending to drive it Tomorrow I’m going to move it around on the drive hopefully ... little things

Achieving a masters, getting a mortgage on my own when I was 27 and giving birth three times.

I feel like I should say my PhD, but if I'm being completely honest, the thing I'm proudest of is my music blog. It's not well known and has a pretty small readership but it's one of the few things in my life where I'm 100% following my passion. And it's led to some great opportunities - I got to appear on TV talking about one of my favourite bands, and contribute to a book about another band I love. I've struggled with updating it lately because the lack of live music at the moment makes it hard to write about amazing gigs I've been to in the past, but I know that once I start writing again it will make me feel better. I need to get back into it!

I don’t know why because it’s something women have been doing since the Dawn of time, but i’m weirdly proud of how I gave birth to my youngest with only gas and air. With my first I was induced and had very little control over the birth as I was strapped to a monitor the whole time and ended up with an epidural which nearly went wrong and then needed assistance with actually delivering. I went into Labour naturally with my second, I always said I’d like to experience a more ‘natural’ birth after the first. Don’t get me wrong, I begged for and then changed my mind over getting an epidural over and over but in the end I’m glad I didn’t get one, I was in the shower 20mins after delivery so that was novel to me and I recovered much quicker in general. I also found out that being induced hurts way more than natural Labour so there’s that.

Im also proud of how I breastfed both for 12 months each. Simply because I was constantly being told that I’d never be able to make it that long because “so and so stopped at x weeks because y reason”. Everyone around me made it sound like this impossible task but it wasn’t and I proved them wrong. Saved shit loads on not buying formula too.

I have a blog too (I'm not an influencer, it is a science blog - so nerdy! Haha). And I'm very proud of it too. It really isn't that big, but I do share it on Twitter and my posts get a decent amount of reads. I would like to really work at it this year and make it more successful, maybe this could be a separate thread for any other people to share tips etc..

Another proud achievement of recent is getting a promotion this year.

Leaving the U.K. and moving abroad to be with my now husband. I now live in a non English speaking country where I have studied the language. It’s tough because I haven’t been able to get home for over a year now because of COVID and I get homesick but my prospects here are great and whenever I speak to people back home they say how great it is to have moved abroad and make a success of it. So I’m proud of that, feels weird writing it down

This month marks 3 years 100% clear of my online gambling addiction.
I’m still chipping away at the massive debt it left me with, and probably will be for the next 5-10 years, but I’m still really proud of myself when I think about how deep I ended up. At my worst I would gamble and lose £1000+ in a single night.
