So far it’s been two weeks. Last months cycle was 34 days and a really light period this month was 24 days and extremely heavy - both with constant but light (heavier than spotting!)bleeding inbetween.

I haven't read all of the comments.

It is way harder to diagnose but have you considered endometriosis? I have it and at one point bled for three weeks straight. The only thing that will control it is being on the depo shot.

Luckily for me, my endo showed up on an MRI, which is really rare. They never show up on an ultrasound but MAY on an MRI. Otherwise, surgery is the only real way to diagnose it. So many more women have endo than people realise.

Around christmas time (23rd December-29th December) I had a horrible dull but sharp ache on my lower right hand side, I took paracetamol but it wasn't touching it. On the 27th, convinced that I had a twisted ovary, a cyst, cancer etc, I went to the GP who told me to wait and see if it goes or go to a&e if I felt it was serious enough. I went to a&e as I was sick of being in pain. My bloods shown high white bloods (they always do) so I was treated for a uti. My urine was clear. They x-rayed me and she said on my lower right side was 'full of poo' and that I was constipated! I was so shocked! Took laxatives and the pain went in a couple of days. It was so weird! Never knew constipation could feel like that or be in that location. Its worth treating yourself for it if you think there may be a *slight* possibility.

Yeh, that sounds really similar to mine. As long as you keep getting medically checked, try not to worry so much unless you have some deep nagging feeling something is far worse going on. I know that is not easy because when it happens you always fear there is! If you feel like you may have other peri symptoms, dig around and find some specific forums etc. You'd be surprised how many ways it shows up to annoy you! 😬
I am sure others will have other theories, too!

Try not to worry hun your doctor obviously isn’t that concerned or would have referred you to gynaecologist in the beginning but you need to get another appointment with the doctor and I’m sure he will give you advice , it could be number of things from pcos to endometriosis you are very young so this is very common to happen we have all been there it’s horrible , so get onto the docs first thing and make that appointment and take it all from there stress doesn’t help either x

I had bleeding between periods for a few months and it turned out to be a uterine polyp which had to be removed surgically. They’re almost always benign but need to be removed especially if they cause trouble. Since mine got taken out I haven’t had any mid-cycle bleeding or spotting.
Just another possibility to consider! It’s a very quick procedure and I didn’t have to stay overnight in the hospital, was back to normal within 2 days.

Hi there, I went without a period for 3 month...I began bleeding and it lasted over 5 weeks, the doctor done bloods and it was nothing hormonal, diabetes or thyroid trouble. He gave me some tablets Norethisterone, I finished my months worth of course 2 days ago and I started bleeding again in this time. In between this, I rang 111 with agonising pains in lower right side of the stomach and they sent me to a&e...all my bloods was fine once again but this time I had high white blood cells. They gave me antibiotics incase it was a water infection (the pains didn’t go and I still get them now), they also said it could be a twisted cyst on my ovaries but I’d need a ultrasound scan. I cannot seem to get any appointments with my doctor and a&e said my doctor would be the one who had to refer me.

Has anyone has similar symptoms and found out what it was regardless if it was something minor or something more serious? I’m also only 23 and too young for a smear on the NHS, I got scared and asked a&e if it was cervical cancer and their reply was ‘too soon to say’ I know I may have jumped to conclusions but I was genuinely scared hence why I asked. Would a private smear be something I should look into? I’ve never had children, I’m not sexually active ect.
Hi! 👋 I don’t have any answers as such but just wanted to say that I currently have ongoing issues and two years ago I was in the exact same position as yourself, my periods are all over the place and I haven’t had much luck with them since 2015 (coming off the depo injection) but there was a stage where I bled non stop for a whole year, at one point my doctor prescribed me norethisterone along with buscopan and I ended up in A&E with the same pain you’re describing (I also would’ve been 23 at the time) they didn’t really do much so I chose to stop taking the norethisterone and the pain died down, at present I’m not having any periods but the pain did subside and I only feel it periodically maybe every 3 months buts it’s fleeting so I feel it was down to that medication, I’ve also had my first smear and everything came back fine so I wouldn’t worry about that side too much!
