Whitening Toothpaste

Healthy teeth are meant to more of an ivory colour. I've had mine whitened professionally too and they've never been bright white .
I drink black tea and coffee too , I don't know if they need whitend again . I think all toothpaste can do is stop new stains forming on the outside.

Opalescence, you can buy it online/eBay. It’s pricy but it’s the only toothpaste that actually kept my teeth sparkling white after having them whitened.

I would second A&H!

Have used all the usual suspects, and even they're most of them are okay, I just felt I needed to find alternatives and give the smaller guys a chance.

Encouraged by positive reviews on Amazon I went for A&H Extra White (I think it was a 6 pack for about £8). Great taste, slightly gritty, but certainly made a difference to the whiteness of my teeth!

Of course I don't know if it actually properly protects/cleans my teeth in the same way as say Colgate, but I've been using it for about 24 months and have never had any issues at dental check-ups.

I think there's all different types of A&H paste, including baking soda.

If you want to super white though and are in the UK, then you won't get that through OTC toothpaste, unfortunately. The UK has very strict laws on the amount of whitening ingredients legally allowed. In the USA, the laws are less stringent which is why their OTC whitening products are so good. OTC whitening strips in the UK are only allowed 0.1% hydrogen peroxide (basically nothing), whereas Crest strips in North America have 10% hydrogen peroxide. If you want, you can drink coffee/tea with a straw so it isn't flowing against your teeth. I used to do that and noticed a difference. I like red wine and will drink water along with it to try not stain my teeth as much.

Most people's teeth are naturally a little yellow though.

I would recommend Colgate Max White One, any of the different varieties are good but I like Optic White. I’ve been using it for years and people have asked me in the past where I get my teeth whitened it’s usually on offer for £1.99. I’m a coffee addict and they stay really white.

Blanx is really good too but a bit more pricey. I’ve tried teeth whitening strips before now too but they made my gums go a bit funny.

If your teeth are naturally more a yellow colour, there’s no toothpaste that’s genuinely going to make them whiter. You will probably need to get them professionally done again. I know there are lots you can buy from the dentist to do the treatments at home to maintain the whiteness after you have had them do it so maybe look into that?

I tried a Colgate one I paid a whopping £17.99 for from Sainsburys. It claimed to make teeth whiter in 7 days. No difference whatsoever after a month. I was also given some generic, cheap whitening strips to try but they were very tricky to apply and even more so to get them to stay.

I used to use 6% hydrogen peroxide and mix half water to use as a mouthwash. Some really old lady with the most beautiful white teeth gave me this tip about 10 years ago. I did it for a while and it made a massive difference, it removed any staining (I had brown stains caused by using that medical grade mouthwash - I can't remember what it is called but it comes in a brown bottle, it causes quite heavy staining). I stopped when a dentist strongly advised me against it though.

I tried the Oral B spotlight one didnt notice much difference to my teeth.

I use Biomed Superwhite Toothpaste. It's really good. I def notice a difference. I drink a lot of diet coke & I think that stains my teeth. I get this toothpaste from boots and it's cheap enough, it's on special at the mo.
It tastes good and is made from coconut oil.

I always use the Beverley hills charcoal toothpaste and people (customers at work) comment on my white teeth every day! It’s honestly such a good toothpaste. I don’t drink tea or coffee which probably helps.

I recently started using the arm&hammer one, it was on offer and cheap so I didn't expect much but have to say its excellent. I intend to repurchase.

I’ve been using Beverly Hills formula - optic blue for a few months. My husband (who never notices anything btw) commented the other week about how white my teeth were . I’ve noticed a slight difference too. Think it’s £1.99 in home bargains

What’s the best whitening toothpaste in your opinion. My teeth always have a yellow tint no matter what I use or try. I’ve had them whitened professionally a while back which has helped but it’s keeping them white-ish is difficult. I also drink too much tea which isn’t helpful.
