White ink tattoos!

I have one, it looked great at the beginning but 6 years on it looks like scar tissue or like a tattoo was attempted to have been lasered off. I have very dark skin though so not sure if that’s why.

They tend to yellow over time. I wouldn't recommend it and the tattooist would likely try to dissuade you also. Any tattooist can do it.

Sorry just saw this! Sun exposure can make it happen faster but it's more to do with how it reacts to your skin and it won't hold the white ink very well in most people.

I had white in a tattoo and it was still white 10 years later, I’ve had to covered since then.

Aye this is what I'm concerned about. Daft question, but do they yellow because they are exposed to the sun?

Not really anything to do with sun exposure. When the ink settles, it’s under the skin and as the body reacts to the ink it can change the colour so it can end up looking yellow/brown once fully healed. Most tattooists won’t do stand alone white tattoos because the end result is so unpredictable.

After a disastrous hair appointment (looking at you two tone yellow hair) I've given up on the idea of a white tattoo. Or anything new. I can guarantee if there is any possibility it will react/turn yellow/brown it will happen to me. At least the yellow ink will match my yellow hair.

I have a white ink tattoo on the inside of my wrist. I got it done in 2014 and it still looks the same now.

Ive been thinking about getting one for a while but a wee bit concerned that it will discolour or not look right.

I have quite pale skin, and like that the white ink almost looks like a scar. I don't want a "blocky" white ink tattoo.

Does anyone have one? If so, do you like it, and has it stayed white?

I have no idea of design or placement, possibly shoulder and collar bone.

Finally, do you have to go to a tattooist who specialises in white ink?

Have attached how I would like the end result to be, not the design.
