Where do you buy smart office clothes?

This sounds silly but I'm really interested to know where you buy smart office clothes from? Ideally ones that make me look like I'm in my early twenties and not 50! My mum always suggests Sainsbury's but I'm 23 ffs

I find places like Primark the shirts are really thin and I need to be modestly dressed, so no short skirts or anything either.

I used to buy from next, Dorothy Perkins, new look, I found they had a more appropriate skirt/ dress length etc, I found the likes of topshop/ river island skirts/ dresses were too short, tops lower cut - this was 10 years ago when I was your age! I've just had to buy a load more for a new job I'm starting- next have heaps in their clearance section reduced if you wanted to have a look.

I'm in my twenties and I've actually had some nice officey bits from the supermarkets so I wouldn't rule them out entirely.

I've got things in my wardrobe from Sainsbury's, Asda, Tesco and Morrisons. Otherwise Matalan, Next or Zara perhaps?

I second Uniqlo! They usually do things in a few colours so if you find something you like it’s good being able to have a few options

Thank you everyone!

Every time I go into a supermarket nothing hits the mark, but then I don't browse them enough so maybe I should look once a month or so. I haven't been in Zara in a while so will deffo be swinging in there next time the shops are open

Very do some nice stuff. The credit interest is ridiculous though so best to buy outright

I love Next. I find their prices fair, the quality good, and the styles and cuts very flattering (although I'm closer to 50, I think they cater for a range of ages).

I’ve never liked shopping supermarkets for clothes, they do have some nice pieces though. My work wardrobe is mainly a mash up of H&M and Primark. M&S do some amazing items especially jumpsuits, dresses and trousers. Often the pieces sell out quickly (because they’re an affordable dupe of a higher end/designer brand) so you either have to be quick or wait 6 months and then you can usually find them on depop, eBay etc........ btw I’m nearing 50 but that doesn’t mean clothing isn’t important to me. a worry of mine is that I look like a generic ’instant mum‘ in Joanie clothing or whatever they’re shilling at the time. tbh clothing is still the main way I use to express myself even though im aged 23x2 😘

I'm in my early 30s and work in a 'business casual' dress environment, so keep in mind that I don't ever shop for a full on strictly business wardrobe.

I think Uniqlo is great for comfortable but put together stuff, my absolute favourite. M&S is really good for comfortable smart(ish) trousers, I can also find nice tops there. H&M can be a hit or miss, I check their stores for basic tops rather than more elaborate stuff. Mango can also have decent things but their sizing is so random that I often give up on finding a proper fit. (I think A.P.C. has beautiful basic items but most things are so expensive it makes me head spin, so I can't afford dressing from there yet lol. €250 for a cotton crepon dress? No thanks.)

I find Matalan pretty good. They do a lot of basics, blacks skirts and jackets which I mix and match with a nice blouse.

I buy my office clothes from Next. You can get quite a good range of styles and the sizing will be from a 6 to a plus size.
I also buy the shift dresses for the summer and in the winter wear with a nice matching suit jacket.
I love their skinny fit trousers 🙌 The clothes wash well which is important for me.

Next is in my opinion the best mix of style, price and quality. I used to get lots of nice blouses/cardigans/trousers from there when I worked in an office

I'll check out Next tonight then... Like someone else said, the washing is really important too. I don't mind Primark for basics like vests under other tops, but they don't tend to wash well!

Next, Matalan, Warehouse, Zara, Primark (maybe not blouses, but they do nice patterned trousers and skirts which are fun and a bit more exciting than plain ones)

I work in an office, and am 25, don't rule out places like Sainsburys, Asda, Tesco F&F - I've had quite a few of my work clothes from places like these. I tend to look online rather than in store though for more choice.

I also get work clothes from Matalan, they are really reasonably priced for skirts, trousers, dresses etc. Next is good too.

I have office dresses that I bought 10 years ago from Sainsbury that are still in excellent condition, and that I'm complimented on all the time. On the other hand, I've had some items from Boden, Karen Millen, Mint Velvet that have worn really poorly. Sainsbury have a fantastic work wear range and Tesco have also really upped their game (side note: adore their pyjamas too!).
