Where are the most popular boy and girl from your year in secondary school now?

This might seem a bit of a random thread but I find teenage social dynamics and how that translates into adulthood really interesting.

I absolutely loathed the most popular girl in my year group. She was like something straight off the set of Mean Girls. I was very very close with one of her best friends but she used to sneak onto my friend’s phone and delete my number, in a pathetic attempt to sabotage our friendship. She fucked off around the time we started our A-levels as she got a scholarship to a prestigious private school nearby. I’m not sure what happened but she ended up going to a not-so-great university and into a pretty standard career. Nothing to be sniffed at but probably not where she saw herself ending up after going to such an elite school (and being quite a snob in general).

I was very friendly with the most popular boy. He fell off a little bit after school – didn’t go to uni and ended up working odd jobs for his father, lots of rumours swirled about the drug dealing and taking. The last time I saw him he looked very gaunt and was balding (he had something of a ‘spice boy’ look back in the day without a hair out of place). I heard that he has settled down and become a father recently and might’ve turned his life around.

There were two “most popular” girls in school. The mean girl, who was a legitimate groupie and had terrible tattoos from aged 15 went into HR. She still hangs out with the weird clique from school, still a bully from what I understand. Didn’t go to uni or college.

The other moved to Asia and became very successful in finance. We’re still great friends and she’s barely changed.

It’s so interesting what denotes popularity when we’re younger. Bullying or sluttish behaviour can make people seem cool but that doesn’t translate well into later life. Others are deemed popular because they’re great people. It can go either way.

The most popular boy got massively into drugs after school and although he was very clever academically and gifted at sports, he just pissed his life away doing labourer type jobs. He’s now got a long term partner and two very cute kids and has kicked the drugs, but does not live the glittering life I thought he would. He often falls out with his partner and messaged me on FB trying to booty call me 🤢 Feel like telling him that if you’re going to try to coerce someone into having sex with you in the future it’s a good idea not to make their life miserable at school. Sad little man.

The most popular girl has three kids all by different fathers and posts constant “just me n the kidz now, no time for snakes” style memes.

Its hard to say who was the most popular looking back, but these two came to mind first hah

The most popular girl has a kid with a mystery father, has a bbl and posts links to her only fans everywhere. She doesn't even have many social media followers for all the carry on, and calls herself a famous porn star

The most popular boy has a girlfriend and just seems to do normal life stuff 😅

I know the ‘popular girl’ from my daughters school is now hated by everyone and has no friends after constantly being vile and turning them against each other. Kids are wiser to their tit now.

The most popular girl who was a complete witch now works in HR which is absolutely hilarious to me.

Most popular boy has settled down and is engaged, has a decent job and still friends with all his school mates. I have to say the popular boys were much nicer than the popular girls!

My friendship group was popular but not in the 'Mean Girls' clique type way. Ironically, I now think we all sort of came together against this tiny group of girls who everyone else couldn't stand. So on reflection maybe they weren't that popular after all 😂

Girl married some hotshot millionaire businessman and moved to Chicago, boy inherited the family business. And no, I didn't attend a posh school!

The most popular girl went to stage school and told everyone she was going to be famous, she currently works in primark and has mellowed out a lot!

The most popular boy was football mad and became a professional footballer (premier league) and is doing amazingly well by the looks of things.

Most popular boy - died when we were 18/19 due, something to do with MDMA if I remember correctly.

Most popular girl - she’s a influencer/model 🤣 Wouldn’t be surprised if she shows up on Love Island one year. Appears to have had loads of surgery

One of the most popular girls got married, stayed in the hometown and seems to have an okay job.
What I find interesting is how many people moved away from our hometown for uni but then ended up moving back there. Probably because it is affordable.

There are a few of us who moved overseas, me being one of them and I never looked back. I can't stand going back home and wouldn't if my family didn't live there. It is a small "city" and still cliquey as ever.

She's an MP. Not I job I would envy, but it's a great achievement.

Not secondary school, but the most popular boy in my class at primary school plays Jack Branning in EE.

Most popular boy is an ex boyf of mine and is now the head honcho at our local water company and I’m always seeing him on the news. Now bald and fat with the most peculiar teeth, he was honestly a beautiful boy in his youth. Most popular girl was a gorgeous willowy blonde who shared my name (me - not willowy..)Bright and huge career predicted for her. Met her on a train a year ago, she’d hadn’t stayed at Uni, fell in lurve, dropped out, had five high achieving kids, all Oxbridge, and was a big unit with mad grey hair and clothes covered in dog hair. I didn’t recognise her but she knew me immediately - lovely woman, I really liked her, which I certainly never did at school. I thought she was an up-herself witch and I was beneath her notice. But we had loads in common now and have stayed in touch - she lives 5 miles away.

We didn't have one girl and boy that were the most popular but instead a group, mostly popular because they were all rich and mostly went to the prep school attached to our grammar school.

Basically all of them are teachers or work in car sales. They seem quite normal now but you can definitely see which ones still have mummy and daddy gifting money and which ones were told to make their own money after uni

there were 2 girls I'd say were the most popular: one got married and had 2 daughters quite young, she then got separated and within a year had met a new guy (who also has 2 daughters) and fell pregnant with guess what... another daughter
the other one had a string of v public, ott relationships (at one point she was a lesbian but now she isn't) has a child and does onlyfans

the boy I have no idea tbh, but I saw him once randomly a few years ago as I was crossing the street and he was at the other side and he just kind of said, "hiya, how are you?" in a way that was weird as I hadn't seen or spoken to him since school

I don't know I don't keep tabs on them my frenemy from school who made my life hell and arranged to beat me up is on unemployment benefits and a single parent.
