Many moons ago we where on holiday in the uk

mum,dad,me and my 3 brothers

I had my own room while my parents and my brothers shared a room (one double bed,a single and bunk beds)

anyway my parents wanted to go to the pub which was about a 20 minute walk away

the b&m owners said they’d babysit (I.e check on us every half hour or so-ear to the door kind of set up-we didn’t know they’d gone anywhere,we thought they where downstairs at the bar)

anyway they got back around 11pm and before they went into their room my dad went for his ’last wee before bedtime’ (my mother’s words) in the lav down the hallway and she went into their unlocked room

to find a random woman in their bed!

from what I can gather my mother just stood there and said

‘what the hell do you think your doing in my bed and why are you smoking around my kids?’

the woman just got out of bed said ‘sorry wrong room’ and left

never even entered their heads that the lads where in any danger or even to phone the police!

they where more bothered about their bedding smelling of smoke!

they just got into bed and went to sleep!

(it came out later that this woman hadnt got the wrong room-she wasn’t even staying there!)

when I went on holiday years later with my own kids they didn’t leave my side-and no way would I have left them with such a daft arrangement with anyone-we went with my mate and her kids in two caravans and I refused (like she did) to even nip for two minutes to her caravan while the kids where asleep

a few years after that maddie McCann went missing and I still shudder to think what could have happened
Any chance at all under the sun that this was in Norfolk?

I’m quite lucky in that nothing overly traumatic has happened to me, but my heart hurts for all of you who have been subject to such horrible people!!

When I was younger (13-16) I was part of a Jaydio forum, I’d use it every single day and struck up some good friendships with other users. This was back in the days of webcams and MSN, and it was completely normal to webcam chat with other members all hours of the day. Anyway, there was one particular member that I was quite close to despite never meeting (I never properly met anybody through the site). We’d constantly video chat on MSN and we would text when offline, etc. One day he had to leave mid way through a MSN video chat and asked to leave the cameras on as he wouldn’t be long. I said sure, why not, as I didn’t think anything off it. So off he went and I carried on with my day. He came back and the conversation continued as normal. It was months later through another forum member I’d found out that he’d recorded my video and watched me get undressed and change my clothes (I was 14, he was probably around 17/18). He’d also sent the video to other male members. I was completely naive and felt so stupid afterwards! I’ve recently found out that in 2017 he was arrested for collecting child pornography and molesting a 14 year old boy in his car (now aged 28). Just awful and I’ve been creeped out even more since finding out!

What was this persons name? And username? If you can remember. I used to be on that forum. Would be really interesting to know x

It won’t let me message you privately and I don’t feel comfortable positing it on here after the charges that were given! He was a mod and it began with a H, hope that helps :)

Some of these stories are awful :( and mine don’t really compare but here goes:
1. Went on a girls holiday to Turkey when I was 19. One night one of my friends got absolutely hammered and needed to go back to our apartment. We left our two other friends in a bar and went back. I have no memory after this until waking up the next morning. My friends said when they got back the apartment door was wide open and they found us in the bathroom covered in sick. We then went out for lunch, and the waitress told us someone else who worked there saw us walking along the beach the previous night and there were two men following us 😮. There were staff on the entrance to our apartment complex, I’m not sure if they got that far anyway but I don’t want to think about what might have happened otherwise.
2. When I was 16 I was staying the night at a friends house and an intruder entered the house using a key that we thought my friends brother had dropped down a drain outside. My friends mum had got up in the night and saw out of the window the person who broke in running out of the house (presumably they heard her get up and legged it.) they didn’t take anything, but there was a clear liquid on the front door, letter box, and in a trail along the hallway... in the same sort of way that arsonists put a trail of flammable liquid before setting fire to it 😲. Nothing more came of it and we didn’t find out what the liquid was but it still scares me over 10 years later.

Bit off topic but having read this, its made my blood boil.. anyone who tries to minimise what women have to go through everyday at the hands of men really needs to read this thread.

Its so very rare that a man might sit there posting about how they were scared to walk home from work because of women or how they were harassed

Its a disgrace thats stuff like this can and still does go on and yet we as women are told WE need to be careful and watch out for signs and not walk late at night, why can’t men be taught be to not be bleeping creeps!

Oh wow that’s really bad I bet dodgy men often hang round clubbing places in Ibiza etc to try an take advantage of paralytic girls :(

I don’t know what else I can do other than apologise. I didn’t mean to cause offence to other people, however would you call someone else out for describing a blonde person as being blonde? I didn’t mean to cause offence and I apologise to anyone who has taken it offensively but all I can say is if you knew this man you would understand.

Reading back my original post, yes I see how that could be taken offensively and I should have worded it a lot better. I’m sorry to anyone who I have offended, I will in future think about how I am trying to put my point across.

Hey don’t worry about it I’m slightly autistic and I wasn’t offended and yes YOU CAN be slightly autistic!!! Don’t know what that other person means?? Her saying that is quite rude tbh especially if she works with people who have autism. Most people notice I’m slightly quirky but don’t guess I have autism till I mention it. It’s mild I can still do normal day to day life but some things cause me more anxiety than other people may experience. People with severe autism may need to be in a home with carers and could not be verbal! So ... yes there is differing severity’s of autism... :-/ ive done a childcare degree and worked in many schools so I’m pretty sure that’s the case

When I was about 9 years old the next door neighbours kid (who was about 12 and male) asked me to go play next door with him and his two friends. Of course, I said yes. What could possibly happen? His family were inside (or so I thought) and mine were right next door. My dad told me it was okay and off I went.

Anyway, we were just swinging and all just playing very harmlessly until he said ‘If you don’t make this jump and land on your feet we’re going to take your clothes off’ They all started laughing. I was petrified by this point, I jumped from the swing and I didn’t make it. I was lying on the floor in pain from landing funny and they all started to approach me giggling with their hands out.

Luckily, my dad had seen the whole thing and shouted from the window for me to come back home. I still wonder to this day what those three boys would have done, or what they have since done to other vulnerable women/children. Safe to say I never went around his house again and the family moved pretty quickly after that. I was always relieved.

For two weeks I walked home after school down a woodland path to my house and passed a man hanging from a tree and didn’t notice. It wasn’t until I got off the bus one day and there was police tape all around blocking the road that it was reported he had been dead for some time. Needless to say I didn’t walk that route home for a long time.

When I was younger, i kept having what I thought were nightmares about a man standing in the doorway of mine and my sisters room watching us sleep. One night I woke up and this time the man was standing near my sisters bed, I screamed and he ran down the stairs and out the back door (we always left it unlocked until this)
My screams woke my mum up but she didn’t get there in time, justsaw the man go over the fence. Anyway the police were called, my dad installed cameras, me and my sister stayed at my dads until we felt safe being back at home.

The police found footprints in our garden, but we never ever found out who it was.

I was in Paris last year with my husband, we stopped to have lunch in a cafe near Notre Dam cathedral. I needed the toilet which was down a flight of stairs, on my way down the stairs I heard some panting and as I headed for the female toilet, there was a man pleasuring himself inside the door of the male toilets, i ran into the female toilet and locked the door and stayed there for about 15mins. I was so afraid if I opened the door he would be waiting for me. my husband then came down to see what was going on. We went back upstairs and the man was sitting several tables over, I called one of the staff over to report the incident and ask them to call police, but when he seen me talking to them he legged it. Dirty pervert.

Me and my husband used to do relief work in pubs (when landlords/ladys go on holiday we go and look after their home and pub) we done one where the couple had done a midnight flee cleared the cash and gone. We were there for about 6 months and there was obe bloke that used to come in for 1 pint of bitter and a shot of jd I always got an off vibe from him. One night he came in had 6 shots of jd and off he went the next day we woke up to police everywhere round the village turns out he had left the pub and gone home and shot his wife then gone to the fields and shot about 50 cows/sheep/horses and gone on the run. The police asked me to write a statement as hed written a letter saying we were having an affair and he had to get rid off his wife so we could run away together, completely false I am happily married and young enough to be his daughter! He was caught shortly after and was sentenced to life in prison.

Mine is more on the paranormal side but still creeps me out to this day! I was about 15 with my friend home alone in my parents house having a sleepover whilst they were on holiday. It was pretty late about 1/2am and we were having a blast - playing music video channels, dancing around etc. Anyway we were upstairs and both walking down a corridor in my house when suddenly out of nowhere it felt as though a cold fan had been turned on, then there was a huge flash of light which went past us both and then suddenly ALL the lights tv everything in my house turned off 😫😫😫😫😫😫😫

we live in an old house and we were so creeped out! My parents returned the next day and I had told them I thought the electric had fused - when my dad went and checked he said nothing was different 😪

Two creepy (to me) stories, but both very different...

1. One summer when I was about 8 my two younger cousins and I went to stay with my grandparents for a few days. My youngest cousin ‘S’ would have been about 4 at the time. Anyway they decided to take us on a day trip to the beach, almost an hours drive away and somewhere none of us kids had ever been before. We couldn’t find any parking along the seafront so drove a bit further into the older part of town. All of a sudden ‘S’ started talking about this being where he lived in “the big White House”. Of course everyone told him he was confused but he was adamant, talking about “Tildy” the maid and “Mrs R” and a nursery in the attic. All things we’d never heard him say before. He told my grandad it was just round the corner behind the church and so we drove down there and lo and behold the exact old Georgian White House like he’s described. He pointed at the window at the top and garbled on about going to have dinner with his brother in the nursery (he only had a sister). Nan and grandad were creeped out, my other cousin was arguing he was talking rubbish and I just started crying. The end of a creepy and unsuccessful trip to the beach! I didn’t bring it up to him again and I’m not sure if my grandparents did but they spoke to my aunt and uncle who were creeped out and had no idea where any of it could have come from. Now my cousin doesn’t remember any of this but my Nan swears she believes in reincarnation on the basis of it. She’s been bugging ‘S’ to try hypnotism or something for years!

2.Very different kind of creepy now apologies! 🤢🤬Second year of uni and I lived in a mixed student household with 4 other girls and 3 boys. We had all been friends/ lived together first year so got on well. In the house we had three bathrooms so split 2 solely for the girls and 1 for boys. One day about 4 months in to living there my friend comes bursting into my room wet and only in a towel all hysterical because she just discovered a spy camera in our shower. Both of our bathrooms had them over the shower/ bath area. They looked exactly like those rubber door stop things and you couldn’t tell there was a camera inside it until you were up close. The creepiest thing is that I had noticed this black rubber thing on the ceiling before and now I cannot for the life of me think why I just accepted it was there but I suppose I had not even the slightest suspicion of it being a camera. It was just so obvious in the middle of the ceiling, not even attempted to disguise I just thought it was a remnant of some old fitting🤦‍♀️ There was lots of shouting that evening but all the guys denied it was them and even suggested it was the landlord. We told them we were reporting it to the police and then crashed at another friends for the night. Next day we found that one of the housemates had left the house in the middle of the night. The police took statements from us and then found the runaway guy with a smashed up laptop in his possession but apparently couldn’t find any evidence of recordings. The guy admitted that he had put the cameras up “in a moment of madness” but never downloaded the software to use them and said we would have seen a light flashing if he had. All very suspicious (why smash laptop and run away?) but police said they couldn’t charge him. He dropped out of uni and didn’t see him again. Could never completely trust the other two lads after that and it was a bit uncomfortable for the rest of the year. We’re still friends but I ended up living in a flat with just two girls the next year!

It's so upsetting to hear other people have stories like this! When I was younger I used to work bar jobs that usually finished late at night/early hours of the morning and lie to my mum about getting a taxi home as I didn't want to pay the £5. She constantly used to nag at me about not messaging her when I set off and I thought it was ridiculous until one night I was walking home at about 1/2am and I was attacked by a man about twice my size! I don't think anyone who hasn't been in that situation can understand the sheer feeling of terror, lying on the ground with this man on top of me all I could think was that I was going to die and my mum wouldnt know why I hadn't come home. It ruined so much for me afterwards, I didn't sleep for months and couldn't be alone as my mind kept playing tricks on me. Its crazy how years on that feeling still creeps back sometimes!

My Grandad was dying in hospital and my brother and I were sitting outside his hospital room (we were young children) My brother jumped up and started shouting bye bye bye bye down the corridor, my Mum came out in tears and said who are you waving at? He said Grandad is walking down the corridor waving goodbye. Unbeknownst to us he had just died.

Also on another note, someone further up the thread mentioned trusting your instinct with people, I definitely think this is true! There's been a few people in my life I've met and got a weird vibe from and have looked like such a witch for wanting absolutely nothing to do with them but I genuinely believe that it's instinct. For example, a guy who started at my workplace a few years ago to cut a long story short told us all about how his wife and child had been killed in a car accident and told us stories about his previous jobs and how he used to work abroad. Me and one other girl who worked there got the weirdest feeling from him and everyone thought we were just being nasty by not engaging with him, we felt horrible but we spent ages on our breaks googling the 'accident' and stalking his(only recently set up) social media. We found no evidence of the accident ever existing but it's quite a bold thing to call someone out on so we left it. A few weeks later our manager got a call from someone who had seen him in our workplace and told them he wasn't who he said he was and his passport was fake. They didn't give much information apart from that he wasn't someone we should be interacting with so they called him and told him not to bother coming back. Still freaks me out thinking about it because although it sounds innocent, no money was ever missing and it was a very poorly paid job, why go to those lengths and make up a false identity? He came across like a bumbling idiot so was definitely a lot more intelligent than he made out, makes me cringe at the thought there were times we'd be alone with him in the staff room and actively talking to him about his life that turned out to all be fake😳

@113980, your story reminded me of a similar one from my husband's workplace a few years ago.

A man in his 50s started working in the company. He came from the other end of the country and said he had only recently moved to the area. My husband just met him once to say hello to as it's a very big company and he worked in a different area. However one of the youngest guys in the company (just turned 18) was working directly with this guy and said to a couple of other members of staff that he didn't like him and felt uneasy around him. His colleagues just laughed it off telling him he was paranoid etc and almost telling him that he needed to grow up (as he was so young)
He (the young guy) went and googled his colleague and lo and behold, his hunch was right. The older man had been in prison for paedophilia. His name was all over the internet along with photos.

The young guy went straight to HR with articles and photos printed off and that man was sacked immediately, but how stupid were HR that they didn't realise this and it too an 18 year old guy to do it?! Shocking.

I’ve got three...

1. When I was about 13 I reckon if not older maybe 15 I was walking my dog in this field where my dad always said don’t go on your own (my dad was a police officer for 30 years and the things he would say such as you never know who could be lurking or you can’t trust anyone you don’t know etc- when I lived at home my bedroom was at the front and across the road lived a man on his own and my dad would always say don’t get changed with the curtains open you never know he could be a perv you never see anyone going in or out the house) anyway ... I was walking my dog and the field is by a main road but secluded at the same time if that makes sense. There are loads of bushes that lead to a pathway. Anyway I saw a man lurking in there just staring at me with a blue plastic bag in his hands. I called my dog over and we ran home
As quick as we could.

2. I was seeing this lad who was a massive coke head. He was lovely when sober but when stoned he was quite forceful. We were having sex once and he pinned me down and wouldn’t stop I was crying and begging and he eventually stopped. I dumped him afterwards but I don’t think he remembered it as when I mentioned the next morning on text he was forceful he didn’t remember. I removed him on everything straight away he still makes my stomach turn now when I think about it 😳😳 I was mad at myself for so long as I always said I would never date a coke head but I thought he was alright. Seemingly not

3. My now boyfriends dad passed away two years ago and since then he is convinced he was hanging around our house. He said he woke up one night and saw a figure stood over the edge of the bed 🥺

After reading all the posts on here men are absolute tit bags!!! Unbelievable the things they do to young girls as well as adults. Makes me sick really. I’ve always been vary of men anyway because of my dad telling me things.
