Thanks for your kind words! I know exactly how you feel, I just want to look and feel confident to walk into a bar by myself to meet my friends, or not be anxious in crowded places because I can't squeeze past people.

I am scheduled for open surgery at the end of the month, to remove a mass I have on my ovary, so training is on hold for the near future. So it's going to have to be down to watching what I eat more than anything, even to get to the lighter side of 13st would do. Secretly hoping that the mass they remove weighs at least a stone 😂😂

It was pretty traumatising haha I normally fall asleep at the same point of you so it was weird I woke up last night. I will persevere with it for a bit longer.

@N0sey.P4rker very impressive loss, well done you!

Got on the scales this morning and I’m 1lb down after 5 days which is good. Was hoping for more as I felt less bloated etc but realistically it’s not going to come off that quick.

Going to my parents this weekend and we are having a Chinese tomorrow and lunch out Sunday. I’m just going to eat carefully for my other meals and not go mad portion wise. Portion size is definitely something I have to work on in general as I have a good appetite.

Oh I’m so glad I’ve never woken up during the hypnotherapy meditation!

my eating has been erratic for last couple of days, I feel I will still be in calories but I’ve had a bag of crisps instead of lunch, that sort of thing.
Been ridiculously busy, kids birthdays, lots of work deadlines, people at the house etc. I’ve managed not to binge and not go over the top widely - had a slice of bday cake but not half of it. Had a couple of Jaffa cakes but not a whole pack etc.
I find planning and lack of time such a major factor in whether I can sit to my goals or not, no matter how much I prep or how much I intend to do something, the endless tasks and responsibilities of adulting just make it really hard.
laying in bed starving now because although I had some cake and some treats yday, i had no real food at all!

It sounds like you've done very well under the busy circumstances, thegrumps. Keeping within calories when eating addictive food stuffs deserves a knighthood!

So my first five days are done and I have lost 1.5lbs which I'm pleased about. I'm aiming for a pound a week so this gives a little leeway for a slightly relaxed weekend (wine and no dedicated exercise).

Here I am feeling a bit guilty for sitting on the sofa so I'm going to do a spot of activity.

@tomato_paste

I have re set my MFP to your 35%/35%/30% at 1500 calories.

Here we go!

Thank you
Awesome! Saw you're pretty much forced to eat almost vegan bc of dietary restrictions.

I'm vegan, so my tips are
- protein bars for snacks, although check for carbs on those
- protein powders - there's neutral flavoured / unflavoured ones you can buy, which you can use in a smoothie with banana or berries and a bit of peanut butter. I do get disliking the flavoured ones as a lot of them are not great, especially the vegan ones.
- Tofu - Maangchi has great recipes, as does Yeoung Man Cooking on YouTube.
- Vegan meat replacements are a good bet too, but do check for fat, some of them are quite high in fat.
- If you wanna save money you could make your own Seitan.
- Tempeh is good too, lots of protein and it's a fermented food so great for gut health. I have found that Asian stores do them really cheap, you can flavour as you like as its a nutty but otherwise quite neutral

Also, you can ask ChatGTP for recipes, I've found when I'm very specific with my question it gives good results. I used "Please give me a vegan meal with x calories and 35% protein, 35% carbs and 30% fat" as a prompt. But do be careful, sometimes it messes up.

Here's a smoothie recipe for the neutral protein powder:

Ingredients:

1 scoop vegan protein powder (pea, hemp, or soy)

1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

1 tbsp peanut butter (or almond butter)

1/2 banana

Ice cubes (optional)

Macros:

Calories: 285

Protein: 26g

Carbs: 22g

Fat: 14g

All the best!

----

ETA:

If you're struggling with getting full, try smoothies, they don't last as long in your stomach, which will allow you reach your calorie goals easier.

Trying to think about meals for next week, does anyone have any good recipe suggestions that are good to make ahead/ batch?

I made a chilli this week. Freezes well and versatile, I like it for lunched with a baked potato or I can have it as an evening meal with rice or make nachos.

Leizel Jane Strydom has great batch cooking youtubes with recipes in her blog.
I cook quite abit of spicy chicken pieces for the fridge and make them into a meal, add to a salad, make a wrap, with a sauce and rice or airfryer potatoes and veg. I steam veg and keep in airtight box and add to meals, they keep for a few day and micro them.

Went on the scale and I'm at 59kg now, which is great - but I can't enjoy it because everything is just loose - my skin, my chin, my boobs, my upper legs 🫤
I'm defo gonna get my boobs and chin done when I've kept my goal weight steady for a year.

Well this weekend has been a bit of a disaster food wise as suspected, but I’ve not had any booze so that’s good as I could have easily had a bottle or two of Prosecco on top of the food.

Had a delicious Chinese last night, but probably a bit too much portion wise. But I ate very little the rest of the day. But today I had a normal breakfast but the most delicious roast beef at a pub, followed by sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. Probably a gazzillion calories but I did enjoy it!

Will try and knock some calories off this weeks to make up for some of it. But have to remember occasions like this (mums birthday) will happen but aren’t a regular occurrence and I don’t want avoid these things.

I find weekends quite hard as my time blender feels like my own. Yesterday I had a three hour round trip in the car and sat with my mum in hospital for a few hours (wouldn’t change seeing her for the world) it’s just a shame that either side of the visit and driving I didn’t do anything active… we woke up late, and then after driving back from my mum we went to a friends house for dinner, I’ve been really good with my tracking and what I’ve eaten and I haven’t had any alcohol but last night they had a baked Camembert and bread and Thai food. Today we woke up late again because (honestly I just think we’re late risers) we all had a late night, I’ve been good on my food and done a bit of food prep but I feel so trapped with the kids, the baby had a 2.5 hr contact nap on me. It feels so claustrophobic. Just went for a 20 minute brisk walk around the block.

Trying to convince my husband to rethink the way we do things in the hope we’ll free up time for each other to do something for ourselves.
