Waterproof trainers?

I'm trying to find a decent pair of waterproof trainers for daily wear. I'm not going to be hiking but I'd like something that'll stand heavy showers and snow that isn't ankle high. Gore-tex has been tried and true for me before but I've tried Adidas Tracerocker 2.0 and they were so stiff, and uncomfortable. Columbia's waterproof tech seems to be less durable under wear and tear. Long story short, I'm lost and if anyone has a reliable suggestion, I'm all ears. Thanks 🙏

Salomon do nice waterproof trainers that are also lightweight and with grippy soles. I’ve had a pair for years, still look just as good.

Rockfish do waterproof canvas ones but they don't look wintery ..

Have you used sports dubbin on regular leather type trainers?

Merrell do some fantastic waterproof hiking type trainers. I wear mine daily for walks, to the shops etc. I've had a couple of pairs and both have lasted years.

Leather is fine in light rain but I don't dare risk it in heavy rain or surprise puddles, I tend to walk anywhere I can and there is a bit of walking between buses on my usual commute too. If I can find a one-shoe-fix-all solution it would be ideal but I can't make up my mind :/

I have karrimor trainers from Sports Direct that are waterproof! Got ‘normal’ trainers and also ankle high walking boots.

Not trainers but I have a pair of muck boots I love more than anything, I often keep them in my car boot for dog walks and I’d be more upset about them getting stolen than the car 😂
