My husband had one after our 2nd and no issues here. He was in discomfort afterwards for a day or two. Tbh I had little sympathy after 2 c-sections

My partner had one after our 3rd was born, I dropped him off in the morning and he was picked up by tea time. He was sore for around a week afterwards, although conveniently the World Cup had just started at the time so he was buzzing with 3 games of football a day. It’s been brilliant for us, I love not having to take anything and it’s also less messy now x

That's what worries me @bubbadabut! Apparently it's very rare that anything goes wrong but it's really not something you want to risk is it? But the alternatives aren't working either.

I just said well my undercarriage is never gonna be the same either!

My husband had it done a few years ago. He was sore and bruised for a week or so but able to work(physical job) the next day. Sex is the same, no different at all and it’s really nice not to have the worry of getting pregnant.

it was difficult for me waiting for the date to roll around as ideally we would have had another baby but for medical reasons it wasn’t safe for me to do so. The day he had it I was upset, I remember saying to him not to go but he did and once it was actually done I felt fine about it.

They do need to make sure they attend the follow upand not just assume it worked because my husband still had a high sperm count after and had to wait a bit longer and go back again to give another sample and then he was given the all clear,

Success story here. My husband had the snip after our second was born and we knew we were done. Never looked back.

Initially I was concerned and read the horror stories and read too much from the wrong sources but went through with it years ago and wasnt a problem. Feels a little tender for a couple of days but only very minor and now doesnt feel any different at all. Sometimes I forget I have even had it done to be perfectly honest, great to not have to fumble around for protection in the heat of the moment too and makes spontaneous sex with my wife a much more viable option.

My husband had one 16 years ago. Best thing ever. Takes an average of four months to be sperm free. Had no idea how long the little swimmers stuck around for. What's your main concern?

my husband had one after our 2nd child just under 6 years ago, he was sore for a couple of days after, he was advised to wear y fronts to provide support for a couple of days. it's brilliant not having to worry about contraception now

Me too, I don't react well to most forms of birth control. I've already had to rely on the MAP a couple of times after condom issues in the last couple of years. Husband is put off by his dad's vasectomy experience. It was "never the same again" apparently . But his dad is a fucking wuss so...

I'm not sure! Just the finality of it and things being different I think. We're definitely done with kids though so I'm just being stupid!

Its a big decision to make. Give it a few more months and see how you feel

I’ve dated 3 guys who have had vasectomies… they had no problems with the procedure, and I can confirm that it was as if it had never been done

My husband had it just over a year ago after 4 children. He was fine apart from a little sore . They just need to take it easy after having it done. It is a big decision and one that you really do need to think about. My husband was told horror stories before his and was worried but he said it wasn't as bad as he thought regarding the actual op and the recovery and things are still the same in that department.

Less messy as in not as much of it, no wet patches on your fresh bedding

This is probably very off topic but I don't know who to talk to about this other than to my partner. Our family is complete and I haven't really got on well with any birth control. He went to see about a vasectomy and ended up booking it and the date is imminent. I'm pleased but also scared. Definitely don't want any more kids but don't want anything to change between us and obviously slightly worried as it's a medical procedure.

Any success stories or watch outs please? I just need to get this out somewhere!
