I started smoking when I was 14 (I'm now 33), I have tried to stop smoking on and off over the years, but never succeeded. I'm now vaping instead of smoking. and it's really helping me. Just wondered if anyone else on here has stopped smoking through vaping. I'm only 3 days in, but the longest I've gone with cigs.

3 of my friends have managed to give up with vaping so it's definitely a successful way.
The only way I was able to give up was by taking champix tablets. I didn't try with a vape personally as I didn't want to inhale anything.

I did and definitely did help but also found I had cigarette withdrawal about a week afterwards and began getting vaping side effects, dry, mouth and headaches but it passes. I know there is still alot of unknown health complications from long term vaping but I was also a smoker from 18 (34 when I stopped) so for me personally my health only improved from stopping smoking. I also found that it was easier over time to decrease the nicotine mg in my juices until it was 0 so I could eventually stop vaping all together which took me about 3yrs to achieve. Good luck too you on this journey!

I havent had a real fag for 8 years. Vaping was the only thing that stopped me. I only use a 6mg strength. I just have a little pen, not one of those big cloudy machines.

Yes I have. It's so easy now for anyone wanting to quit, so many ways. I just swapped the fags for vapes but then couldn't stop for about 7 years 😬
Thing is as it wasn't unhealthy like smoking I wasn't in a hurry to quit but I really didn't want any addiction so quite rarely I came down with a bad cold. The first few days I couldn't face vapes and the addiction was broken. I had just bought a load of vape stuff but I just binned it all.
You might always miss smoking but you won't always be addicted if you decide to quit. It's really not as scary as you imagine, a life without nicotine, but even vaping is a hundred times better than cigarettes as you're not taking in those many other chemicals in the tobacco. Well done, keep it up, soon you won't be able to face a real cigarette

Yes I did. It’s been almost 2 years. Couldn’t have done it without vaping. Had a pretty traumatic experience about 5 months in. Almost caved and had a cigarette but I knew if I did I would have had to buy a packet. So sucked away on my vape 😂. I’m aiming to quit that by this summer too. Best thing I ever did. The health benefits and the money saved is so lovely. Keep it up x

Smoked since I was 14, now 26. I managed to quit last year with vaping. I'm only a miniscule amount of nicotine now too. I also forget to take my vape out with me a lot of the time and I don't miss it, so I think I'll be able to quit that soon too. No coughing, no stinking, it's great!

I had my last cigarette Dec 2019. Started vaping and now am on the zero nicotine pods abd rarely reach for it at all. Its definitely made my life so much easier. I weaned myself off nicotine without noticing.
I used pods that came in diff levels of nicotine, so I started at 16mg or something then down to 8 or 6mg or something like that then now I'm on 0mg and it's just for the sensation if I am stressed out!

Vaped on and off for a few years now. I invested in a good one because the cheap ones I used to buy would always run out on a night out and I'd use it as an excuse to have a cig. I think my brain has switched to not liking cigs which is good.

Wouldn't mind getting off the vape itself though as the nicotine addiction is still there and I'm on it almost all the time.

Have u ever tried the lower dose nicotine? Honestly I would have chain smoked a few years ago. Then when I switched to vaping I was probably even worse as I could vape whenever I wanted. Now I would barely reach for it and I 100% put it down to lowering the nicotine strength gradually.

I got pretty low at one time but I found I'd often get given a different strength than I'd asked for. Even in the Vape shops. So I'd be thinking I was doing well and then it would turn out it was higher than before. But yeah, the next thing is to start going a lot lower and stick with it.

I quit smoking for 5 years without anything. I don’t know how but I had bad anxiety at the time so it just happened. But then I started to crave smoking really badly. So bought a vape instead and have had that since.
