Literally I went to a Russell Group uni and not even one of the ones known for having rich students and I feel like a tonne of people I've met did gap years and travelled or did a WHV. A few took gap years just to work and save up for uni too. Loads of people I know are doing them after their degree too. What's unusual is doing a degree in your 30s or older, not taking a year out before starting.

Well that surprises me after Eve just went on about wanting to live with German speakers. I know Jade will probably do a video about becoming fluent in German in 12 hours but it's a bit different to doing it as a degree or being a native speaker.

I feel like maybe Eve just scanned the comment she replied to/took it as "is Jade moving to Berlin in September?" rather than "is Jade moving into the same apartment as you in September". Because I think if they were moving in together, Eve would've mentioned her by name in the video rather than just saying that "someone" is moving in in September

I’ve also never got the impression that Jade and Eve are that close. You always see Eve with the Molly/Liv/Lydia/Lizzie group, and Jade seems closer with Ruby, Jack etc.

Idk why but I always got the impression that there was some tension between Ruby/Jade (who seem really close) and Eve (whom they barely have contact with). But I guess now they’ll bond over being language geniuses lol.
Yeah, and I always got the vibe that Eve is actually friends with her group whereas Jade is only friends with her group for studytube purposes. I feel like Eve isn't ~spontaneous~ enough for Jade.

They were meant to be in Seoul semester 1 and Hyderabad semester 2. She's going to Berlin because she was given the choice of London on Berlin for semester 1, with Seoul pushed to semester 2 and Hyderabad cancelled. Still think it's a bit stupid living with people who aren't Minerva, since she's going to have a stupid timetable that won't track with people who are on a normal 9-5.
i follow a russian youtuber called dinara who is also studying at minerva and she was in berlin and in buenos aires this past school year.
in berlin she lived in a flat, with her own bedroom (it wasn't a shared one like in san francisco) and her flatmates were other minerva students
in buenos aires, if someone was wondering, this girl lived in a sort of hotel room, she had a king-sized bed for herself but no windows... imagine living with no windows during lockdown!
in may, minerva told them that they had to leave the hotel, because the school year was over, but dinara (and some of her cohort) couldn't fly back to their home countries, so in the middle of the lockdown they had to move to an airbnb
she has videos crying because all flights were cancelled until september, luckily she contacted the russian embassy and she was able to fly to moscow in a special flight....

I just think it’s ridiculous for Jade to be defending Minerva when they so clearly didn’t care about their students in lockdown. The fact Dinara literally had no where to stay and couldn’t get home shows how little Minerva are in touch with the world. They like to think they’re aware and connected but from everything I’ve seen, all they do is try and make it out like they’re some prodigy school. They’re just so not.

She is so fake. I used to like her pre-uni content for motivation. After her Oxford rejection, she's completely lost it and adopted this manic toxic hippie positivity personality to distance herself from her "Oxford-self" as much as possible. Tried to watch her patronising "inspiring" videos a few times but I cannot even stand it anymore.
