Many traditional "Labourites" didn't vote for Starmer's Labour because they expected exactly this, so I think we're fine.

(Until this year, I've always voted Labour but reject the idea of being committed to a particular party... not a Labourite!)

Though I don't understand the "gotcha" from some (I assume), Conservative voters with the "haha Starmer/Labour is no different from the Tories!"

Okay. Well if this Labour is like the Tories then Conservative voters should be happy or are they admitting that the Tories are bad?
Exactly. It's noticeable that the criticisms have come from those on both the right and left of the Labour government. The left have moaned about it not observing true socialist principles and the right have, well, apparently largely moaned about it not observing true socialist principles. Of course neither of these factions voted Labour in the general election anyway. Of those that did vote Labour, how many can how many can honestly say that (perhaps with the exception of the Winter Fuel Allowance debacle) the government isn't doing what was promised and expected? I am quite encouraged by what they have done so far and the suggestion that they are no different to the Tories is frankly laughable especially as it often seems to come from people who think the Tories lost because they were not right wing enough.

The non-doms are off, gonna need to shake down the pensioners some more instead. Pressing ahead with the rumoured removal of the 25% single person council tax discount ever more likely I guess.

“Fully costed manifesto” undergoing another revision?

Strange the logic of the Left.

We don’t need rich people and could not care less if they left for sunnier climes, but a sizeable proportion of our fiscal plan depends on taxing the tit out of said rich people.

Perhaps they should look more closely at Lord Ali’s, er…. opaque ….. tax affairs?

And furthermore

Oh dear you really do need to keep up with the manufactured outrage. This particular completely imaginary, 'not denied' Labour plan has been specifically ruled out as has the equally confected suggestion of reducing pub opening hours. But don't worry I am sure there will be another rumoured 'Labour plan' along soon designed to frighten the horses and give ammunition (albeit blanks) to their media opposition.

Edit: here I found it for you: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/uk-world-news/people-pip-could-see-immediate-29987693

How embarrassing is this.
Sky News Beth Rigby being Community Noted because she’s still peddling lies.

Imagine being the prime minister and being community noted. also for peddling lies.

And then imagine being the Labour Party social media machine and not having the sense to simply delete the misleading tweet once that has happened.

Nadia Whittome has it right, and I really don’t think she’s in the Kier Starmer fan club.

Before the election was called I was sure that the media would come for Starmer and Labour in a big way. However I now realise that they were cleverer than that. They and the people that pull their strings realised that whatever they said, Labour would win so they kept their powder dry and have now embarked on a campaign of trying to discredit and destroy the government. I was naive enough to think that the election result would spell the end of the right wing Tory nightmare but now I realise it's just beginning.
