Anyone applied recently? Applied for an online renewal and have posted my old one back, not sure if there is a backlog or Royal Mail have lost it

I know you’ve already done yours, but for anyone else who needs to do a simple renewal, the Premium Service is excellent (if you can get to Passport Office easily).
Do everything online and pay, then pick scheduled appointment at the same time for pick up at collection office. I applied and paid for mine and collected it four days later.
I went to Victoria and was in and out in ten/fifteen mins with the new passport.
I couldn’t faff around with sending stuff off and waiting to receive cos I live abroad (suggested turnaround three months), but even if I lived in the UK I’d still pick Premium. I think it was £177.

The passport office haven’t received my old one to process the application that’s the issue
I’ve always had mine back within a week, so have never thought to do this! Good tip!
I totally get how annoying and worrying it is waiting for official documents. I’ve spent the last 20 months sending/receiving other govt documents, with no option to expedite them, and waiting around thinking ‘have they got it yet? Did they send it yet? Has it been lost?! Has it been stolen?!
’ So with the passport I took the Premium because of everything else being dealt with so damn slowly!
I just applied for mine online on 7 December, and got an email 17th December to say it was on it's way and arrived a couple of days later
Hey! I have renewed recently on the 5th Jan and had to send off my foreign passport separately to check the names which I did last Thursday and I had notification today to say that it’s been approved and it’s just waiting for print and despatch so I would think if you’ve not had any update then you probably need to query it with post office. Did you get tracking for it or signed for? I sent mine 1st signed for.Anyone applied recently? I finally got round to doing my application in the morning. Posted my old passport by special delivery so will see.

Mine was meant to be out for delivery and then again today and nothing has arrived

My passport arrived today. So around 3 weeks. The email did say TNT but I also paid £5 extra for secure delivery.
