Hello all thinking of summer and trying to optimistic...any recommendations of family uk breaks, pool a requirement.

We have done centreparcs numerous times and love it but would like to try something else.

Don’t want rowdy/boozy will go anywhere if it’s worth it!

Darwin Escapes have some lovely parks round the UK. Cheddar Woods is good, particularly if you want something to keep the kids entertained, but still want that little bit of luxury for you. They do have a few different sites though. Woodside Bay on the Isle of Wight is my fav, but there isn't really much there for children. The only one I would avoid is Talacre Beach - it's not got the best reviews and I've heard some pretty rubbish things about it.

I use to go to Cheddar Woods probably around 15 years ago or more when it was Broadway House, it seems its changed an awful lot since then! definitely more up market 😂😂

Oh god, yes, it's changed LOADS since then. I used to work closely with the park (I don't any more, so this isn't a shameless plug for them haha) but it's actually really nice now!

Centerparcs has always been out go to. Dont think you can go wrong. An hour in the car and it feels like your somewhere completely different. We managed to get one in September (was booked way before corona) we was hesitant to go but I'm so glad we did!

Centreparcs is brilliant, something for the whole family to do. We were due to go back to the winter wonderland in December, it’s magical for the kids.

I've never been myself but heard lots of good things about Bluestone Wales. I've done a few forest holidays which are always good for different age. We also stayed at Whitehead forest park a few years ago it had indoor pool and pgl type activities on site

Heated outdoor/indoor pools
With waterslides, wet adventure play areas, pool activities, baby swimming , giant inflatable obstacle courses, for all ages.

Forest Holidays 1000000%, far superior to Centre Parcs & while pricey in school holidays still cheaper than Centre Parcs.

We've been to centre parcs a few times but found it quite pricey (had to be school holidays as I work in a school) so we went to Bluestone in Wales instead. I'd heard that it was just as good as centre parcs but cheaper. We had a really good holiday but honestly my kids love swimming and their pool doesn't compare to centre parcs (Longleat).

Bluestone looks lovely, but it’s sooooo far away from me (NE England)!

We had a lovely break with Haven in 2019. One indoor and one outdoor pool overlooking the beach

What's your point

We usually book a cheap as chips sun deal for a few days away around easter or sometimes october.

We dont use the entertainment facilities at all though just use the accommodation for a base and then find some really nice places to visit.

We usually go Northumberland area or Scotland as some beautiful places nearby and we like walking and photography so the scenery is great for us.

We usually have a main holiday abroad or go touring Scotland in the summer but do like the sun deals for a quick cheap break.

We're big Center Parcs fans - it's expensive but we go out of season and take our own food and bikes to keep costs down.

We tried a couple of Forest Holidays but weren't keen on the lack of pool/entertainment. And we hated Park Dean (for numerous reasons, key ones being that they advertised the site as having a heated indoor pool but the water was sooo cold and for some reason they had all the doors wide open on poolside... It was October and absolutely freezing! Plus the accommodation was dirty and literally falling apart - holes in the walls etc).

Bluestone is on our todo list, although I see that's a long way from you unfortunately!

Another big Centre Parcs fan here but we did go to Woolacombe Bay in North Devon pre Covid and it was good as not only close to the beach, but has 4 sites close together and you can use all the facilities on all the sites- had all been recently revamped so the pools were all modern and had slides etc
