Bloody hell, just watched this amazing drama! Thought people might want to discuss? I was surprised it was directed by Sue Tully - Michelle from EastEnders (but I also remember her in Grange Hill 😜 showing my age).
I was absolutely riveted - thought it was really clever, different, the acting was amazing.
Can't wait to see how this pans out (the drama and this thread 😄)

I remember her from Grange Hill too! If you say her name, that'll come to me before her Eastenders involvement.

This is great! Just watching it now ... absolutely love well-written British dramas ...

Was the woman in the car at the end Vanessa? Looking all intimate with Connie's hubby?
Also, I did think it was weird Vanessa lived right across the street and Connie had never noticed 🤔

Too Close is a three-episode psychological series written by author Clara Salaman – based on her book of the same name, which she wrote under the name Natalie Daniels.

It focuses on the dangerous relationship between forensic psychiatrist Dr Emma Robertson and Connie Mortensen, a woman accused of a heinous crime but who claims she can’t remember anything.

The drama plays out over three episodes, and it quickly becomes apparent that Connie isn’t the only one whose life is beginning to unravel.

Did anyone catch this last night? I thought it was a pretty good opening episode - Emily Watson and Denise Gough were really great.

I'm usually gripped by anything starring Emily Watson but

I think she and her girlfriend & kids had very recently moved in. She just might not have noticed. Neighbours just ain't what they used to be...

I have read online that it was but I didn't think it looked much like her...?

Me neither - looked like her mother!

The third episode was hard to watch. Great series, and it was good that both ladies got closure in respect of their different situations.

I would've liked an explanation as to why Vanessa copied Connie's tattoos and perfume, and stole her husband though - did she want Connie's life?

Agree! There were a few unanswered questions, could have done with another half hour or so, trial rushed etc...
It had so much promise.. it reminded me of what they say about March " It came in like a Lion and out like a lamb"....
A bit of a limp finish

It was good, but definitely needed another episode to explore Nessa - was she trying to steal her life? did she deliberately dial Connie when she was having sex with her husband? I imagine there is a lot more in the book.

I totally think it just lost its way and fizzled out. What a shame. Last episode was just bitty and rushed. I completely missed ego the guy in the pub was (I know she got a letter off him) but I'm assuming it was the lorry driver? Quite a few 'as if' moments in the last episode, but I enjoyed it overall 🤷‍♀️

Really enjoyed it. But one thing really annoys me about every single drama with a Psychatrist/ Psychologist/mental health worker in is that they always way overstep professional boundaries. They are there for a reason!

Yes, that's right - he was the lorry driver. I thought the storyline was leading to him having abducted the child. I felt really sad for him after learning what really happened - it must have been a terrible burden to carry.

I think Ness and the hubby got off lightly (well, the bit about almost losing their daughters aside). He was a selfish, gormless twonk led by his d*ck and she was just a conniving witch!
