I watched a few clips from today's vid. Boring, boring, boring.
Are they still saying that they're "prerecorded", nothing current? (Edit: oops, just read @Eddertillet wrote it was prerecorded)

She says the word Stoma at the end. Wow!
Ironically, I just watched Petrina's IG video of her changing her bag, including showing her stoma, cleaning the area, the entire process. Talk about a helpful video! It wasn't uncomfortable or a scary presentation at all. She shows her exercises following surgery, she has let the viewer go through her surgical experience and healing process with her, very matter of fact, very honest and real. Brava to her for normalising it!

I cringe every time I hear her "I always say that whenever we go to the hospital we have to wear the 'We've got this' merch." And this recent video shows yet MORE merch being removed from a parcel. She's always showing stuff she's bought but what about the gifts sent to her by her avid fans? Other than a brief mention of cards being received and one hand made decoration she had in her hospital room she's not acknowledged any other gifts that she's been sent. Which is pretty rude.
And her talk about her 'bum bum'! How juvenile. As cringeworthy as her little dance whenever her phone rings.
Rant over.

those packages that she gets with more shirts in them are the complimentary merch she gets based on sales. I guess sales are going well. Not a peep about the packages and messages that she received. At the risk of TT reading this and implementing this suggestion...it seems logical that you would at least show and read a few of the well wishing messages or show some gifts etc. It would take up some time and far more interesting that seeing her talk about her bum bum and greasy food. Honestly how much longer are these pre recorded videos going to continue...oh stupid question...as long as they get views and $$ for tiffany.

The best thing I've gained from "following" Tiff's journey is coming across Petrina's - she is honest and open and educational. Cheers Tiff.

I signed up for a Bonfire account. I don't think you get comps, the unit cost of garments goes down the more you sell, so the profit goes up . She's buying her own stuff, she must be quite comfortable! She's made thousands selling those crappy tees.

who in their right mind would buy all of those shirts which are mostly the same in various shades but the same unless they are free. I know nothing about merch other than I don't buy it but she must then have $$ to burn. I bet she has passed them out to the staff at RM too.

Yikes. I really do not like Petrina. I thinks she’s rather full of ‘toxic positivity’ and so privileged that’s it’s easy for her to be simplistically ‘if I can you can’, which is so not true because her privilege opens opportunities that others just don’t have. I agree she can be open and quite informative but her information is always laced with toxic positivity.
Just my perspective.

I can't listen to her speaking because she says 'like' almost every other word. It should not matter but it just grinds my gears. And yes, she can be a bit too 'preachy'. Different worlds I guess, but the last thing on my mind would be trying to squeeze into tiny jeans, but I suppose the point is that the small things can be blown out of proportion by huge life changes. I think she has battled so much, not being in control of her body must be hard. You don't look like she does without being in total command.

I like Petrina but I understand what you mean. Many cancer 'influencers' speak too much inspirational stuff. They cant help it it seems. It is off-putting to me too but some people like it and are inspired by it. Inspirational talk seems to uplift people. Petrina balances it out as she really is informative and I like her honesty.
Yes, @ScrattyRatty, "preachy" is the word. If you want to experience the peak of preachiness, have a look at Brittney Beadle and Nalie Agustin (now sadly deceased). Both on instagram. Brittney at least contains it to herself mostly but Nalie published a book full of inspirational quotes and called herself a writer. She went a bit overboard with self-importance. A nice woman otherwise, she seemed very caring and giving.

You can tell what type of influencers they are just from reading these bits from their instagram. Those keywords they use to characterise themselves say it all.

I am a very practical person, I'm not really one for motivational quotes in frames on walls, or 'manifesting', I see problems and look for solutions, so a lot of that inspirational stuff goes over my head.

i have chosen not to do any more following of these channels but I fully get what you mean about the "toxic positivity" I like more of a down to earth realistic approach.

I agree, I hate the sermonizing, I am so tired of the stupid overused memes and quotes that so many people post as directives and lectures to their audience, just on mainstream social media. I can do without them too. I find them pompous and arrogant tbh.

I do like how Petrina presents her body changes and adjustments without any drama or suspense. She just shows it as it is. My exposure is so limited and only recent to any health instagrammers. Admittedly, I have skipped much of Petrina's lengthy "inspirational" messages since I did think they were more for self motivation. I saw her as giving herself the peptalks as opposed to directing it towards others. I was all set to dislike her, however, I do appreciate her directness in how she shows and describes her medical experience. If I were to require this surgery, I would find it much more doable and less overwhelming after seeing what her experience has involved and explicitly, the actual result following surgery.

Same. Inspirational quotes don't inspire me at all. And I find this "manifesting" thing madness. But maybe for some people with stage 4 cancer, these things help. Maybe they find solace in it.

I suppose, same as having a religious belief. I'm more temporal than spiritual!

Update on Nat - she put this on Twitter
---
What I have gained from ( previously) watching TT videos:
1. I looked up locally advanced pelvic cancer and learned about pelvic exenteration surgery that gives a chance of a longer life.
2. I got curious about how YouTubers make money and went looking for that info. Now I understand how people make money on YouTube
3. I found this website and saw that I wasn’t alone in my feeling that TT is manipulating her followers emotionally in order to increase the money she makes.
4. I learned about Natalie and have been inspired by how she lives her life despite her medical struggles.

I also skip most of Petrina's inspirational messages haha but I do that with everyone. I skip Nat's too.
It just does not interest me and like you said, it seems like they are for her more than for others. Yes self-motivation. It really does seem like peptalks with Petrina which is much better (in my opinion) than trying so hard to inspire others. Someone who is just themselves without any affectation is prone to inspire much more than someone forcing things and seeping motivational quotes.
Emily Hayward (100% authentic) vs Tiffany (pretentious and fake).

Exactly the same with me. It's her directness, no sugar coating and straight to the point with her medical experience.

I wonder what age she will be before she stops calling herself a 'girl'?

She is so distracted and forgetful- can you imagine being one of her patients unless she improves drastically? My optometrist is so professional and precise ( I have some complicated eye problems and am now developing cataracts as well so have found one I really trust) - I can't imagine Tiffany or Matt doing the job.

This month is colorectal cancer awareness month. It would be nice if she talked about her early symptoms and you know.. helped raise awareness or idk acknowledged it but she probably won’t.

Haha, one of the best things here was when @Daisychain4 cheekily began calling her "our girl". :D

Well said. Actions inspire much more than words from a stranger. I can understand why Petrina may not be everyone's cup of tea, for one reason or another. I, too, was prepared to dislike her, I don't relate to some things about her either. But, I agree, I am more inspired by a person, not trying to be inspirational, but by simply being vulnerable about their journey. She shows strength in showing her weakness, that is real to me, not by portraying a persona of trumph over tribulations through catchphrases and a caricature of herself.

I was almost ready to write her off based on her objectification of herself, her explanations of why don't wring fully true for me. But, I give her a lot of credit that all of this only came about as a result of illness at all and her decision to make the most out of building herself up in the face of having so much health slip out of her hands. I continue to be impressed with her fortitude and showing her new normal. Even privilege did not give her a free pass to health and vitality, she must find it in herself every day to pick herself up and fight for it like everyone else. She doesn't have to show us this side, she could have hidden it away and just shown the world a rosy picture, or be like Tiffany and give the most superficial version possible, only enough to garner support, but not enough to really let anyone in to know what was really going on. Thank you to whomever first mentioned her as well as the others I've been able to now follow.

This month is colorectal cancer awareness month. It would be nice if she talked about her early symptoms and you know.. helped raise awareness or idk acknowledged it but she probably won’t.
Excellent point!

Thank you for this reminder, with colorectal cancers on the rise, it is a good reminder for us all to follow up quickly if we have any worrisome symptoms. My heart goes to all who are facing this struggle.
