I tried it out, went onto IG an it had the option to automatically make the account so thought why not, it's a bit messy the now, hard to find accounts you might want to follow, hard to see who you are following but apparently it was a rush job to just get it out so am hoping they will polish it up a bit an make it easier to navigate, see who your following an find smaller accounts
There's a lot of talk about if you delete it then your IG goes but some have posted ways around it where you can at least deactivate it without it messing with your IG
It's still quite new though an it's nice to browse (so far) without annoying ads but it's early to judge how I'll feel an if I'll keep it

I definitely prefer twitter.
Can't really see this taking off unless they change it so you only see people you follow, as my timeline is just loads of people I can't bloody stand like Jamie Oliver.
I see lots of people saying they prefer it because it isn't as toxic as twitter but give it time

It makes me laugh that people keep posting on Threads saying hope it stays wholesome etc. It's only existed a day, give it time 
Do they really think posters are different people to those already on twitter?! All the trolling and politics will be rife on there before the week is out. It will be same tit different shovel.

So it appears Instagram is broken tonight, and lots of people can’t login to their accounts or use Instagram properly. Can’t help thinking this Threads app was a mad rush job to capitalise on people being upset at Musk and the tweet limit thing and they haven’t sorted it so it’s working properly. By all accounts it’s clunky and slow and has lots of work needed on it. Apparently its servers are similar to the way Mastadon runs!

Just wait until humanity corrupts it.
Twitter definitely has some issues, but it's biggest issue comes from the people using it. Censorship is such a tricky thing and deciding what is acceptable. Everyone has their own internal ruleset and most think they're always right.
The number of people on tattle that go on a thread to declare that no one should talk about *inset something they're sensitive about*. Then they get a warning and for the life of them can't understand they did literally the definition of tone policing and fly off the handle
.I feel like the initial fuss about it has already died down? I’ve not been on it since but people on my instagram have slowed down posting about it. I think they’ll relaise it’s just another twitter for endless scrolling.
