For a lot of practicing Christians, Easter is a bigger deal than Christmas. It's the whole basis for their religion.

For everyone else I suppose it's whatever you make of it.
We set up an egg hunt for the kids in the morning, we have hot cross buns for breakfast, and I make a big roast dinner.

Working in a large shop, it's also the only other day apart from Christmas Day that I'm guaranteed not to be at work.

Its surprising how many people still don't eat meat on (especially) good Friday. In my store our fish sales go through the roof.

Yeh it's the only day I can think of that the chippy near me has a queue outside for dinner time

I love Easter. It’s nice to spend time as a family and eat Sunday roast together etc. it’s early this year, so will be freezing but it feels like we’re nearly into Spring! My kids still like to do an Easter egg hunt too, which is nice.

Yeah I’m a fan of Easter too. I like three days at home with my boys and a big family roast dinner. It’s like Christmas without all the pressure.

Frank Jr Jr attends a COE School and clearly has misunderstood Easter. He keeps telling me Jesus is visiting us on Sunday As an atheist I hope not!!

I was raised watching The Life of Brian at Easter



I think it’s a cultural holiday for all of the UK in terms of chocolate, hot cross buns, school holidays and egg hunts and a religious one for those who partake.

I'll celebrate anything that brings me a bank holiday to be fair!

My family are very strong roman Catholic- my mums heart broke when all 8 of her children declared they were atheists her mum was disgusted being in our presence when she was alive. I remember she wouldnt speak to us but instead tut and shake her head if we made any noise we've always complied with the big family gathering on Easter Sunday, shared gifts, attended holy communion etc but me, my dad and brother have a tradition every good Friday of meeting up for a burger and a pint! The others have joined us on the odd year and I absolutely love the feeling of being really naughty and sneaking off for meat when we were kids he'd take us mcdonalds, its a silly tradition but it makes me smile

I've just taken 6 bin bags of stuff I've had on vinted for over a year to the charity shop because a) I've had no interest from anyone and b) when I have, people take the piss and offer stupidly low offers.

Also, last time I tried to buy anything, I made an offer, it was accepted then without any explanation, cancelled. Can't be arsed with it.

exactly the same here, nice clothes, hardly worn, good high street brands. Zero interest after months on Vinted, except for £1.50 offered for a top I was selling for £2.50, and a dress sold for £4. Can’t be bothered with it all, so to the chazza they went.

Are hot cross buns just a British food? (I'm not British, and don't live in Britain or the UK)

nah, we get them in Canada. The shops are getting wild. White chocolate and raspberry, white chocolate with cranberry, orange & cranberry, chocolate chip.

Basically a dough bun with a cross piped on top.

Cold.peppermint tea on a hot day is THE most refreshing drink ever. I usually make a jug of it (I like it very strong so brew.for a long time) then keep in the fridge, delicious. Don't like normal tea either, the idea of having it with milk makes hotvas weme feel sick

Can I thank you for your tip on doing the cold peppermint tea, been trying it the last few days liking it cold, so definitely one to have throughout spring/summer, also tried it hot,.it's OK hot as well. I've also been trying fennel tea which is very nice as well
