The God like fandom of david attenborough

All he does is voiceiver/narration. He doesn't risk life and limb deep sea diving with filming gear or do the placing of cameras in precarious locations such as the side of a cliff. Someone has had to abseil down to do that. He's not climbing kilimanjaro with camera gear to film a rare bird. He's not
sitting in the burning heat or freezing cold for hours.
When he gets awards he barely mentions anyone else and all the hours and hard toil it took to film a lesser spotted three legged gold partridge. He just laps up all the praise and takes all the glory.

I'm so glad someone has said this. First thing, I swear straight white men think liking David Attenborough is a personality trait.

Second thing, its that people (usually middle aged) hail him as some great fountain of knowledge. In his heyday I'm sure he was great and very knowledgable. He brought parts of the world to people that they would have never seen. Now we have planes and wikipedia, he's just not so whimsical anymore.

Also he is just really boring. I'm sorry but his documentaries and his voice could bore me to sleep and I have insomnia.

When I read about the hard work done by scientists and many other unsung heroes trying to develop a Covid vaccine (regardless of manufacturer), coupled with the many thousands of volunteers offering to help out in order to save millions of lives, I have come to the conclusion that celebs are just a sad bunch of vacuous, greedy, attention-seeking bottom feeders, most of whom can rot in Hell for all I care.

That last bit's a bit harsh, except for the ones who abuse their standing to do really terrible things.

I also loathe and detest Kym Marsh - mostly because I remember when she was auditioning for Pop Stars in 2001, she denied that she was a mother of two.

I also dislike the way she wooed and wed a couple of soap stars then ditched them when something better came along. However she is very pretty with a cracking figure so she gets away with it.

Despite not being qualified?
Also getting a book deal or tv show and media coverage and lets face it a guaranteed sales pitch all at the same time!
So all of a sudden they are chefs parenting experts mental health advocates (this one actually worries me if someone has serious issues just doing a bit of meditation or starting a mindfullness journal is not going to just magic their problems away!)
Fashion designers sex therapists artists and spiritual guru's...the list is endless
They live in a gilded cage most of them delegate any real responsibility to underlings actually the bleeping arrogance of celebrities in general is just breathtaking.
It does almost feel as if we are a captive audience we almost have to listen to them because they are so overexposed!

I got irritated when David Attenborough started lecturing people about how they shouldn't fly all over the place. He is right - but omg his travel miles must be up in the 100s of 1000s. He is one of those who set the example for travelling to far flung places bothering poor bloody animals minding their own business.
