I haven’t been active here lately, but recently got off my first Disney cruise (Fantasy) and I have thoughts. Overall it was fantastic and I get the hype but it really reinforced how wildly off the trackers are about basically everything and how gluttonous pre GLP-Gin was. Seeing it in real life hits different so for anyone that's interested, I'm sharing my observations.
Cabanas plates are absurdly big. Not just wide but deep. Every time I grabbed food and still had empty space, I kept thinking about Gin’s multi-plate, fully loaded situations. It’s actually more food than it even looks like on camera, which is saying something.
Being late to muster is so rude. You’re holding up an entire station. If it’s outside, people are literally standing packed together in the Florida sun waiting on you. Acting like that’s no big deal is a choice, Dim!
Upper deck/atrium viewing is the move. I took Xmas' past advice and watched shows from above which gave perfect views with little chaos. If Buddy truly has sensory issues, this is such an obvious move.
Character lines are always full. The idea of Dim hovering solo, filming, narrating, and capturing “booty butts” while everyone else is just trying to meet Mickey? WTF!
Filming constantly in shared spaces would be mortifying. Dining rooms, shops, walkways have people everywhere even on a not full sailing. The lack of self awareness/care is insane to me.
How have they never done door decorations or hung a fish extender for the kids!?
Unexpected highlight was a nearly 4 minute horn battle in Nassau with the Wish.
The Wish captain casually having lunch next to us with the Fantasy captain was an unexpected and lovely moment.
Watched a host walk a Tower Suite family right up the Mickey slide for prime Pirate Night fireworks viewing. Too bad Dim never got this cuntcierge perk.
Port Canaveral to the Eagle Creek exit is like 45 minutes. This does not require a potty break for a 44 year old man.
Anyway, I loved the cruise, loved Lookout and would absolutely do one again, but definitely not the way certain losers do it.
