Why does the post about the queue being seen from space remind me of the movie Deck The Halls 🤣🤣🤣

Random one, I was just walking down the road where southwark park is on (near surrey quays) and police were escorting a whole load of blacked out vans and cars and stopped traffic for them. Was wondering if anyone knew why someone would be going that way, it's towards greenwich so really wondering what this could be

Re accents and the royals, The Times published this lack during the Jubilee:

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/the-queen-accent-less-posh-commoner-touch-latest-d957f0nl6

(don't know how to make an archive link so there's no paywall I'm afraid!)

You just paste it in the archive site, and usually someone's already saved it so loads instantly.

Yeah I was going to reference that the Queen didn’t really sound that posh and given that most people would have grown up with her being the monarch it probably wouldn’t have mattered that much if she did

Charles is new and he has to build some sort of stability for himself. I’m not entirely sure the pen drama is helping a whole lot

Yes, and I also think the pen moments are such small events in the scale of these 10 days of mourning. But because of TV and social media and whatnot they get amplified. He wasn't the first person I've seen get annoyed by an item of stationery, and he won't be the last :ROFLMAO:

Is there a reason why it starts at 10:44?
Oh good question! I feel like the procession to Westminster also started at a very specific time. That was because of the tempo they were marching/walking at and wanting to arrive on the dot at 3pm. So perhaps it's something like that?

They have rehearsed and timed everything down to the second so I assume the random start times are to ensure they arrive at a certain time.

Charles carrying his own pen is my favourite thing.

My son cycled from work to see the queue and then bought some fruit to give to a small crowd

Anyone else as cynical as me about Beckham? The slating he has been getting about accepting millions for the world Cup and he pops up having queued for hours?

My spidey senses tells me his PR manager has said get out there Becks, long John's on and the next 12 hours will be well spent to turn the opinion of the common people?they will forget your selling your soul to the devil of a country like Qatar!

Also on previous thread someone said she would love KC to read a story on Calm app. Track back on his IG and he read "Twas a night before Christmas!" Perfectly soothing! 🥰

Edited to add the link for KC subtle tones 👌

I wish sky news would talk about Phillip and Holly. Ask the people half way through their 24 hour wait with no sleep standing in the cold what they think of them 🍵

Oh wow that video is lovely. So many beautiful soothing accents, haha. Plus a bonus Tom Hardy (not me who has binge watched his CBeebies bedtime stories…)

Just seen that Susanna Reid went from the queue to home to change to Bill Turnbull’s funeral. Fair play to her.

Just speculation but I saw the coffin will arrive at the abbey at 10:52am. Possibly a reference to her becoming the Queen in 1952. Of course they can’t do the service at 19:52pm because of all the services that are taking place, plus the procession.

Edit - The King has just left Buckingham Palace for Westminster Hall.
