I heard that Stacy Chapin told Steve Goncalves that he doesn't speak for their family and not to mention them. So, there's that.

Hi, I’m new to this thread but not new to the case. I’ve tried to tell this before in hopes that someone understands what I’m trying to get across and I mean absolutely no disrespect by it. But I feel like Kaylee’s mum and dad are exploiting her death. I also feel like they are maybe turning it into a competition. They talk about Maddie sometimes in their interviews but rarely ever mention Ethan or xana. Everything is all about Kaylee, I know she is their daughter and will be devastated about the loss but I can’t help but feel they are exploiting her death but there was also another 3 families in that house who lost their child. I feel as though they are doing interviews too much and should leave the police to do their work. They are telling everyone the injuries Kaylee had and that will be giving people ideas for theories then they get angry at the theories. I think they should just keep it to them selves until everyone of the people affected by this agrees to make it public. I know they are only trying to get justice for their daughter but it seems to me they are forgetting that she wasn’t the only one involved and so they are trying to tell everyone that Kaylee was the worst off. A lot of people experienced the worst thing to ever happen but they seem more interested in spreading all the information and turning it into a competition on who was beat the worst.
Some people are more vocal than others, maybe for them it's helping to deal with the grief, and it's understandable they would focus on their loved one, as it's not their place to speak on others.

I think Maddie was the target as the killer appears to have gone straight to her room and I think the additional violence to Kaylee was possibly fuelled by rage/anger as I don’t think he expected her to be with Maddie.
I agree with Maddie being the target, and I thought maybe he killed Kaylee as he didn't want to leave a witness and then the other two saw him so he killed them. But then Dylan saw him and he left her untouched so I don't know.

Dylan saw him, we don't know he saw her.

I doubt he did.

From my understanding she was in her room and just had the door cracked peeking out in the dark.

In the dark, with that mask on his face and right after killing 4 kids, he may have just been focused on getting out the back door ASAP.

Yes I’m not at all convinced he saw Dylan. It was dark, his adrenaline was pumping as he’d just slaughtered 4 kids and was just focused on getting out of there.

Steve Goncalves probably isn’t someone I would warm to in real life but I can’t criticise him for speaking out about his murdered daughter. If I was him I would have totally lost my tit.

BK also has 'visual snow' affecting his eyesight in the dark.
I wonder what both sides make of that...if BK struggles with night vision how is he stargazing on a cloudy night? If BK can not see in the dark...how did he manage to navigate the house and carry out the murders?

I am interested in the defence presenting the alternative suspect evidence.

I don't think he saw her either, I read somewhere else that there was a neon word light on the wall behind her also which would have made it harder for him to see her
I think at that stage one more person would have been nothing to him 😕

There was that good vibes neon sign on the living room wall that he would have walked directly past as Dylan saw him. I’m assuming it was switched on because it was on in the pictures press took through the windows. Walking past that could have affected his night vision. I think she had her door open a bit and in the dark he genuinely didn’t see her. If he did I think she would be dead too.

This shows the location of the neon sign (the green thing on the right) in proximity to Dylan’s door. He would have turned to the right and entered the kitchen opposite her door. I think she was incredibly lucky and probably has horrendous survivors guilt.

and the person had to know the house well enough to not trip on the down step from the living to area near DM's door.

SO my question is DM's height reference of the perp when they are still on the flooring of the living room or after they have stepped down onto the flooring that is near her door? I wonder how high is that step down. It could be nothing.

Closed hearing ?? Possible deal 🤔
I disagree based on the court filings dates. and due to the fact that the pretrial conference is still on the docket schedule.

In Idaho, a pretrial conference is a meeting between the defendant (and their attorney) and the prosecuting attorney to discuss the possibility of resolving the case without a trial. It's a negotiation aimed at reaching a plea bargain or other resolution, often occurring outside the presence of the judge. The purpose is to explore options and potentially avoid a trial.

Here's a more detailed explanation:

"The Motion, declarations, and accompanying exhibits reveal personal private information of defendant (Idaho Code 74-124(b)) and affects his privacy interests (Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32(g)(1)). Specifically, the filing reveals mental health information about defendant, including psychological, psychiatric, and neurological information and diagnoses of defendant.

The filing also reveals the nature of mental condition examinations already conducted and the type of examinations and testing the State seeks to perform, some of which is personality testing to which defendant objects.

In addition, the State has redacted the name of a psychology expert who is longer working on the case. The Court should accept the redactions to protect the privacy interests of this individual."

The last special they aired mentioned evidence that he purchased a knife which turned out to be true 🤷‍♀️ Obviously this isn’t confirmed in any filings yet, but I always find Dateline pretty reliable tbh. Obvs we won’t know for sure until the trial, just sharing what’s being reported 😊
