Hadn’t noticed that! Yes you are right! Behind every photo and caption, there’s always a hidden agenda those hashtags sum her up! In fact she’s only used 3 (yes 3!) hashtags that even relate to positivity and she’s left them right till the end! Shows you how important positivity really is to her!

I don’t take, take, take and everything we have has been worked for and we don’t go out begging, so I feel comfortable in saying that she should turn off the lights at night and lie there questioning her morals and authenticity. Everything she says is to encourage followers to spend to fund their lifestyles. If every follower she had left her tomorrow she’d be worse off financially. Yep, all of this... and sales and marketing is unavoidable nowadays and it’s fair enough if she chooses to do it, but it’s how she’s quite deceptive about it that makes my skin crawl. She would lord her ability to understand ASA regulation due to being a lawyer over us, hide “gift” and “spon” camouflaged into colours and where it would be hidden by story timeline etc. Everything is an underhand way to sell and it’s disgusting.

It's a big problem. It's actually quite hard to believe. It's worrying that people can make a career out of putting up the same photos of rooms in their house. Cream and brown rooms. That's it. How is she even worth following? Why are any of these people worth following? How can it make someone feel better about life to look at what free stuff someone they don't know has? It's like the pages of Hello magazine have exploded all over Instagram and everyone wants to be on the front page. It started with Facebook, but it's gone beyond what any of us could have imagined. It's like something out of Black Mirror. It's frightening. This woman has nothing to share. She is out of touch, vain, self-important, vaccuous and immoral. I can only hope that this trend of selling yourself and monetising your children is coming to an end. She has a lot of followers... she could turn this tit around and start doing some actual good in the world.

The whole ‘influencer’ culture has got out of hand. It’s become an epidemic.
It seems so many think they are entitled to free stuff or to be paid for talking about a product or service, when they reach a certain number of followers. They seem to think they have reached some sort of celebrity status (laughable!). May I point out, that even though Thehousebuild has 118k followers, her posts generally only bring in an average of just over 1k of likes (see dog food post). However, Mrs Meldrum (who I do not follow nor like) has only 103k followers and her posts generate between 5-7k likes! I’d say that Becks has a lot more work to do if she wants her numbers to go up.
Thehousebuild now has a PR agency to contact should brands want to ‘collab’. This basically means send stuff for free or pay me to promote stuff. The requests on Twitter that were made from the agency on behalf of Thehousebuild for the garden furniture and luggage, amounts to nothing more than online begging. It’s embarrassing.
Can I make a suggestion? How about Thehousebuild and those other so called ‘influencers’ find another way to fund their lifestyles (you know, the endless amount of clothes, Christmas trees, candelabras, garden furniture, Daniel Wellington watches, dog food etc) - it’s called working! You will be more content and happy with life if you work hard and save up for the things you want in life. Those materialistic items will mean a lot more to you if you have had to pay for them. You will also be setting a good example to future generations ie your children.

All Becks does is copy her mother, they even have all the same furniture, colour schemes, doors, everything. It is really weird. Claudia doesn't help by massaging Becks ego massively. On the few occasions we have been at get togethers at the same time, Claudia gushes on constantly to anyone who will listen about how amazing her daughter is, how inspirational, blah blah blah. I mean most Mothers are proud of their daughters but she takes it to extremes. You can see why Becks things she IS amazing if she has been told it since she was a child.

It looks ridiculous, a tiny little half portico and front door squashed into the corner of that huge house. To me it looks like they've added it to a back door and if you could see the front of the house, that's where you'd find the appropriately scaled door on the front of the house. But no, that is the front door.

Well said! I am sick of seeing the same rooms but from a different angle on not just the house build but on lots of others too. It seems that there is a little competition running too to see who can build the biggest house. There are some whoppers! At first I enjoyed seeing people’s houses/builds/Reno’s but now I feel quite sick at how showy some of these women are. The new thing seems to be “this is our home from home” - showing holiday homes. I’m sure Beck’s won’t be far behind!

Was she not supposed to be doing a reno job on a house down in Devon or wherever it is they go on holiday? I could have sworn I remember her posting about something, maybe she was going to be project managing it rather than something they bought themselves. Never heard of that again. But yes when your adoring fans have seen every angle and square inch of your main home, there's only one thing for it to keep the content coming......buy a holiday home. Just a Little Build was in first I think, now DMBL40 has got hers.....come on The House Build and RVK you're lagging behind! Even Charlotte The Home that Made Me gave it a go with the caravan but that turned out to be short lived. #holidayhomesforcontent

If what you say is correct, and you mentioned that you had known Becks from your teens, then this would explain a lot about her behaviour and the way she comes across on Instagram. She certainly comes across as self-important, entitled and craves so much attention. How does her husband/ colleagues/ friends cope with such attention seeking?

She has a younger half sister through father’s second marriage and I’m pretty sure I remember her mentioning a brother when I first started following her a few years back but have always thought it’s really odd he’s never been mentioned again and they never appear to socialise together. The half sister sometimes comes to visit.

She has a half sister from her Father's second marriage who is a lot younger and also a brother from her mother and father. They get on fine but he doesn't live locally. So she is the only daughter and Claudia has created a mini me. Quite weird but she has always spoilt her and brought her up to believe she was better and more entitled than everyone else. When we were teens Becks was quite normal hence why we became friends but over time she has got very entitled and showy, it's not nice and it putting a lot of our mutual friends off. Some people try and bring up with her or make observations about the freebies and showing off, in a tongue in cheek way but it gets batted away. If you don't agree with her 100% and tell her how amazing she is then she won't be interested.
