New calls to limit children's exposure like Australia has, which even if it comes to law I'm not sure it's particularly workable.

This article is more about radicalisation but the impacts of social media are far beyond that. I don't think it's hyperbolic to say social media has been one of the most detrimental things to society in most people's lives.

If social media is cancer, then what are social media influencers?

Trouble is, social media is a genie in a bottle situation. Once it got out there was no putting it back.

Our leaders should have been much more switched on during the emergence of it and done more then but they were as dazzled by the ability to build a shrine to themselves as the next person.

Yep they can't put it back but they could introduce regulation on children being used by parents for content, regulation on the algorithms and force influencers to fund a properly funded regulator before they can monetize their accounts. They've done duck all to protect society.
