Other people have much better ideas than me it seems so I’m pooling resources and hoping for help!

post your tricky people and hopefully someone has ideas.

i have

a teenage girl- into Instagram/tiktok type things. I was thinking some kind of Fenty beauty set but I might be years out of date with what’s cool for teens? What would your teens like- about £20 ish.

a nana who doesn’t really need anything and is housebound. We’ve done a cosy blanket and a cushion in previous years and now I’m really stuck!

and as ever for me- a teen boy not into anything in particular. Budget about £100. Usually do experience days but not sure if that’s good during these covid times.

For the girl you could get a make up brush cleaning machine? They’re about 20 pounds. :)

Jigsaws for the nana? Or what about heat up slippers?

I spend a lot of time of tiktok 😂 not a teenage girl but there’s a few products I see again and again that the younger girls seem to be loving right now.

Three barrelled hair curler. You can get these on Amazon for around £20. Just pick the one with the most reviews. They’re so popular on social media right now.

Star projector for your room. It sounds like a kiddy thing but they actually look so cool and make a room look amazing

Skincare like The Ordinary or K beauty brands are very in right now. I’m sure they do gift sets.

Wireless keyboard for your phone/iPad. You can get them in nice aesthetic colours.

Nans always like something sentimental or personal don’t they. Maybe take some time to make a photo album or have something personalised for her. Not on the high street is probably your best bet you can get some lovely stuff on there.

Teenage boys I’m not great with. AirPods ? They’re around £120ish.

For the teenage girl - Olaplex hair stuff is really good, skincare, silk scrunchies, face masks (glam glow is great), lush and the body shop gift sets, candles from Yankee, makeup (morphe and huda beauty have sales for Black Friday)

I was going to suggest Morphe. They do some gorgeous big eyeshadow palettes for like £24 on Cult Beauty and they do 10% off first orders. https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/morphe-brushes

If she’s into make up stuff those palettes are gorgeous.

Teenage girl - lush bath bombs or any lush stuff always goes down well. The snow fairy stuff is amazing

Nana - jigsaws are always what we get my boyfriends Nana. Does she have a dog or any pet she loves? We've got my boyfriends Nana a jigsaw of her dog she adores. Pjs/slippers too

Teen boy- a switch? That might be over the budget mind.

A blanket with family photographs on for nana? I brought my nan one and she has it up on the wall 🤣

I'm struggling with my steo dad he's 66 will be 67 on boxing day, retired. Rarely drinks, doesn't like gadgets, not very tech minded, doesn't smoke or wear after shave, doesn't wear slippers either!

Would the girl like a light up make up mirror or a mobile phone ring light and tripod if she’s into socials ? Might be a safer bet if she’s potentially picky about what make up she likes and will
use(I know I was in my teen years)

For the boy wireless headphones or if he has a PlayStation/Xbox a new headset would potentially be a good shout.

What “to do” presents are people buying their pre teen daughters? I have a 12 year old stepdaughter that I’ve actually found relatively easy to buy for this year, as she’s reached the next stage where she’s into beauty things.

She’s getting a new phone as her main, straighteners, make up, clothes, a few cute accessory type bits. However she’s not great at keeping herself entertained when it’s just her and her brothers don’t want to play!

She’s always had drawing/writing stuff, bracelet kits etc. This year I’ve bought her a tie dye kit but that’ll involve me doing it with her.

Any new ideas for what she could do on her own?

I usually get my boys some kind of cupcake making set- you know the ‘just add egg’ kind but the kind with the extra decorating stuff- at 12 she could probably get on with that alone and it’s an easy start into baking/cooking. I find them handy on a rainy afternoon. Boots and Primark often have sets with special moulds (is that the right spelling?) for like baked doughnuts or something like that.

Something from Sculpd or along those lines?

Teen girl - some make up brushes or eyeshadows from Make Up Revolution (they're my fav!). Bath bombs, a light up vanity mirror? I'm assuming she's a girly girl here! Or maybe even one of those hoody blankets - I have one (I'm 25) and it's brilliant! My 15 year old sister in law loves hers too.

Nanna - jigsaw puzzles, canvas of all the family (if you have a family pic), books (my Nanna used to love Danielle Steele books)

Teen boy - Is he into xbox/playstation? could you get him some points to spend on the console? Or a game? New gaming headset?
