I currently don't really have the time or desire to keep up with the Grifters & Co. but I'm disappointed and I would like to vent.

I've hinted at it once and I was going to leave it at that but for the record, I've done my military service, served as a UN peacekeeper and I'm still in the reserve force of my home country.

I have no illusions about these military institutions and I rather view them as a necessary evil. They get you young and dumb and exploit you but I wouldn't exchange the experience for anything. They say you must stay for a certain period of time but, if you're not somewhere like North Korea, that really isn't true. If you can't take the heat and can't stick to your guns, the military doesn't want you. No need to desert during peace times. Ask and you will be let go from a modern military in a democratic country.

More importantly, I wouldn't want my life to depend on someone who's thinking of running away.

I don't know what kind of bullying has taken place but one should expect certain amount of hazing in any military. I don't know if it's right but a little ragging is nothing compared to having live bullets flying over your head. Snowflakes need not apply. When the hazing goes too far, I can't imagine a military not having ways to deal with it. Cue all day piggyback marches and other fun team building exercises military style. If that doesn't work, the perpetrators are the ones likely to get the boot.

And to get nothing but discharged for desertion beggars belief. As far as I'm aware, militaries treat desertion equal to treason, sexual assault and murder. There really aren't many other ways to get dishonourable discharge. Not sure if that's right either but it plays in the propaganda image of honour in the service.

I'm not even sure what I'm trying to say but never in my wildest dreams was I ever thinking of going AWOL. And everybody thinks of quitting the service at some point and I saw many leave but they did it in proper order. Worst AWOL I've witnessed happened when some officer candidates failed to return to base before curfew. If you get punished for being few minutes late, how can someone get a mere slap in the wrist for going on the run for years? It's such a slap in the face for the rest of the guys who serve.

I'm disappointed that I was warming up to Biffy's daily vlogging. I have literally trusted my life on others and others have trusted me but I wouldn't trust Biffy Pathetic as far as I could throw him. Normally, I'm dead against death penalty but during a war I could be required to pull the trigger on a deserter.

I'm not British but I guess I'm surprised there wasn't even a suspended sentence. Maybe he cried a river at the hearing as that seems to be the family way. It's never their own fault.

Yours truly,
1st Lieutenant Jikki2

Chanel bauble on sale - reduced from USD36.99 to USD33.99.
Where does a Workaway volunteer get the money for rings and expensive baubles? His iPhone wielding for her videos ( attendant honking and snorting aside ) surely doesn’t provide the income to justify such expenditure. Remind yourself Sir Snorty - you’re Dutch; your thrifty countrymen will strip you of citizenship for such spendthrift ways.
SJ must be insane or possessed if she thinks this man, young enough to be her son, brings anything to her brand. A lapdog who’s gone from sitting on her knee to Top Dog inserting himself into everything: He should be expelled from the pack.
I try to envisage them rationalising the negative feedback and lack of channel growth. He must have some serious influence if she’s dissuaded he’s not a big factor in that. It seems to me his presence is, at the very best, stalling what was (until his covert to overt inclusion), a rapidly growing business model. The Patreon model is so new, so potentially tentative that, when you consider her audience age and their values, her screwing a man young enough to be her son seems brand suicide. The talents he might have are only recognised by her, perhaps his grandparents and a few Charleston-dancing, femboy-friendly viewers. Word to CLL. These people are NOT your bread and butter. That’s Grannies who love France, history, lifestyle/DIY and were/are locked down. They want to come visit when Covid “goes away”. They want Stephanie in her Provence skirt. They want to sit in the Chapel, take photos of Thor and the Ians. They want to peek in Isabelle’s greenhouse. They don’t want a beanie wearing Dutchman playing at Lord of the Manor twitching, honking and snorting disparagingly at them.

Megalithic art: Newgrange is part of the Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site. UNESCO has described it as "Europe's largest and most important concentration of prehistoric megalithic art."
Brian Morrison/Tourism Ireland
In the Welsh language, "Alban Arthan" means for "Light of Winter," according to the Farmers' Almanac.

It might be the oldest seasonal festival of humankind.
Part of Druidic traditions, the winter solstice is considered a time of death and rebirth.
Newgrange, a prehistoric monument built in Ireland around 3200 BC, is associated with the Alban Arthan festival.

If you want to be super-precise in your observations (and who doesn't want to be?), the exact time of the 2021 winter solstice will be 15:59 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on Tuesday, according to EarthSky.org and Farmers' Almanac. That's almost six hours later than last year's time.

Here are some examples of when 15:59 UTC will be for various local times in places around the world. Because of time zone differences, the solstice will technically fall on Wednesday in parts of East Asia.
-- Seoul: 12:59 a.m. Wednesday
-- Bangkok: 11:59 p.m. Tuesday
-- Qatar: 6:59 p.m. Tuesday
-- Milan, Italy: 4:59 p.m. Tuesday
-- Orlando, Florida: 10:59 a.m. Tuesday
-- Calgary, Canada: 8:59 a.m. Tuesday
-- Honolulu: 5:59 a.m. Tuesday

Thanks @MojoDublin for another thread !

Watching Dan's latest vlog...

Steph is tiny !! OMG She looks like a child between her two parents in Dan's van 🤣

I wonder if she doesn't compensate her height with her hysterical laugh and her over excited attitude... You know, like telling people "Helloooo I'm here ! Look at me !" in case they don't notice her in a crowd.

Somewhere she said she was 5'4" - and she makes up for it by always wearing heels. To me she always looks far taller.

This is so sad. Why isn't the Chateau Diaries/Stephanie Jarvis, donating to Michael Bergantino?

Someone mentioned Cadeaux at the Chateau But isn't that used for charity organisations and not individuals? I can understand and sympathise with the plight of this gentleman but once this route has been made available to one it could well open the flood gates for many others in need. Then you have a situation of deciding whose need is greatest, and as a non medical person at @the Chateau Diaries that is not their call to make.

@bee french I believe that they planned to mention me and post the link in their next Cadeaux video so that will be great. I don't think, nor wouldn't want them, to change how they distribute their charity funds from the channel, just in case that's what you were asking. They’ve been wonderful just letting me ask our wonderful community for help! Thanks Bee! ❤🙏

My friend and I are the same height but when she sits into my car she can barely see over the steering wheel. Her height is probably the same as SJ - in the lower half. Where I'm what would be called long waisted, it's a nuisance waist seams in dresses tend to be just below boob.

https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Félicité_de_Genlis (sorry in French .... with Translate Google ;) may be)
(later if needed I can translate the sum-up).
Fyi few French ppl have read her works ; i doubt IJ will open one of the books

>@LaFrancaise123 re Percy Attfield's quotation (sth = gourmets'experience )
he has never been seating in a 'good restaurant'
= scallops with garlic (and shallots) ? You cannot mix these 2 flavours (please believe me i luckily know the French gastronomie, never seen/tasted
that)
= the "hachis parmentier" au confit de canard .....gratiné with cheese (on the top) ?????????

> same barrel of SquirelBoy's (or Pine d'huître = oyester's dick ) mix = the connoiseur -a low JamesBond- with Martini & pineapple (Queens cocktail ?)

In a nutshell, these meals are, in any case, French Xmas dish.

I wish you all a very very good week with the ones you love

Enjoy the Winter solstice those who celebrate. Enjoy Christmas with your family and close friends (if able). 2022 will be an interesting year. A shortened forecast from a fortune teller!! For some it will be good for getting rid of the old or negative and starting fresh. But some will keep it all. Interpret as you will with all fortune cookie type forecasts.
