SJ taking a leaf out of FRK and teabags, tear stained vlogs is sick bucket time... I unfortunately cry easily ( happy sad). I would never have it filmed, she is getting very nervous of her funds nose diving, which I think they will. Did anyone else think the greetings to Andie were staged, as if to convince her patrons she had started back renovating the loo, she does care about the wildlife, all these projects were continuing while she was living the life??. Get that debit card back out grannies!!

The bees are in Dans vlog 23, six days ago.
You can see Kirsty on the tractor when SJ is speaking to Selmar in the loo (same in Dans vlog 28).
Second vaccination (first in vlog 4 weeks ago) thats okay, she did have Pfizer probably.
Vlog is a patchwork.

Now she is fully vaccinated against.....bazzillica ?

The toilet lost in the mail? Are there no toilets at the local Bricomarche?
She can't sh*t on french toilets ?
Must be Spode ?
Oh, no, the fittings ! Yes if you install english fittings. But why can't she use french fittings ? Why no french builders ? Why is she living in France when she's ordering everything from UK ?

Average annual income in Indre et Loire, her region, €17,240.
Her region is Indre (not Indre-et-Loire ;))

But I would say Indre region is even poorer than Indre-et-Loire.

maybe because she's too afraid of what French professionals could say about the works being done at Lalande ? 😅

Sadie is looking better and better.
I've noticed this a few vlogs ago.

I will be in Europe from August. So looking forward to dropping in SJ! Exploring and taking photos!
Oh yes, please : do it !:p

Membership of the non-profit Chateau de Lalande Association, dedicated to renovating the chateau! You'll be helping to restore a beautiful 16th century French chateau :)
is it what it is said to the Patrons ? That they have a membership to the non-profit Association ?
In this case, they should have an annual meeting and be able to ask questions ?

I thought it was very staged ! The old girl can see all that money disappearing . No more Murano and parties galore !

Why is everyone ordering and manufacturing stuff in England for the chateaus in France? And most craftsmen and externa companies they hire are British too.
Like most other groups emigrating, they tend to carry their own culture with them , and will often use tradesmen from the same background. My family were just the same when they moved from Ireland to the UK. We always had to find an Irish Catholic plumber from the community if a pipe burst for example, and my mother would get relatives to send her Barry's tea by post.
. My elderly aunt is still the same, she doesn't "trust" English plumbers and she's been living here for 70 years. It's the same with most new migrant groups. They go for the familiar. Hence the shops in Canada and the US selling British brands at extortionate prices.

He's suffering from work-shy scroungeritis, a disease that seems to afflict many expats in France ... . In the past, the unemployed would sign on and look for work. These days they run away to France and make boring videos about their boring lives as unemployed layabouts, and receive considerably more than they would if they claimed unemployment benefit ... . The flogs are little more than a celebration of nothingness in an age of mediocrity.
That would make a great new thread title Tax Inspector,
"A celebration of nothingness in an age of mediocrity".

To be fair your aunt sounds very discerning. Given our experience of English plumbers, I don't trust them either. 🤣

It's a shame that Andie has to be corrupted by the circus as she seemed sane and pleasant but she's now having to feign responses like everyone else, and actually she's probably only there to promote her painting. One thing she has, which SJ hasn't got, is style. She dresses well and always looks good.

I agree Gibson, we had a very talented Polish handyman, he was so much better than the English ones we used 😂

Thanks, I was just wondering, i mean the costs for cargo etc. must be enormous
Stephanie has got money to waste on shipping costs. If my family could have afforded to have a toilet shipped over from Ireland, no matter what state it was in, I know they would have done. Bunch of nutcases.( I mean my family as well as SJ)

The bus ride at Lalande is getting very bumpy!!!! 🚌 Not a lot of love for Selmar in the live chat. SJ and mini apron need to throw someone under the bus. More questions and no real answers. SJ trying to flood the zone with sorrow to divert the attention from failing renovations did not work.

Stewart Moore Selmar needs a english dictionary...some of his english texts are seriously bad...but i do like his content
Stewart Moore If I could change one thing it would be Selmars spelling texts in his vlogs...sometimes its like destroying the english language
Stewart Moore maybe we could get a fund together and buy selmar an english dictionary

Selmar Duin Yes I am back. Only going away in the weekends. Exploring France
Isabelle Jarvis So glad Selmar you are back in the Loo
Selmar Duin I am staying in the Loo till it is finished
The Chateau Diaries @aaron Scheuerman Thanks! I’m getting very excited about the loo. Which is quite a weird thing to say, actually…
The Chateau Diaries @ARJules I think the chandelier is in its final position. I didn’t notice it being too low, maybe because I’m not very tall

Can it be considered harassment to chain someone to the Loo? ha ha ha...laughed so at that intro. The bee's have "swarmed" and hope your bee man will relocate them to a nice hive in his yard.

Like a police box lock in? Toilet is lost in the mail. Lol. I thought they were waiting for a plumber.

More questions, Isabelle and Jaqueline Reynolds jumps in the comments early but then Barbi Button takes over replying to the majority of comments.

Hello all - I've been looking forward to the chapel renovation - a week or so ago I thought I saw a comment that the chapel restorer is recovering (from what I don't know) - does anyone have an update on the chapel? Thanks so much!

Angela Pa @Chateau Diaries hi Stephanie @Neil Hartley told us that there’s a potato festival near Lalande . It would be nice to see it.

And why is BJJ chasing up the lost toilet? Is he her PA now too?
And why are they only measuring now to order the damn materials? And Phyllis does not seem qualified to do such complex work. God knows SJ isn’t.

interesting that she lost 1,000 in Patreon monies and those two spent almost that amount on nothing that was needed or necessary to cheer themselves up. She really needs to see a therapist pronto.

He is establishing himself as paymaster.
Do they have anything like power of attorney in France, whereby you take over my money if I am ill or non compos mentis?

WOWWW she has lost about $1,000 a month in the past few days.. Seems her Patreons aren't too happy about the lack of renovation work and her pathetic excuse as to why it's not shown more in the flogs..

View attachment 644030
It's something of a miracle that she gets any money at all ... she's boring (she's got no interests in life apart from buying tat from brocantes and visiting the hapless owners of other châteaux located in the middle of nowhere), the flogs are boring with their silly titles, silly music, and meaningless conversations, and the château's boring (in the middle of nowhere with nothing to see or do) ... Don't know how she gets any B&B guests ... They must be as boring and desperate as she is ...

According to a friend of mine who is an architect specialising in Listed buildings/historic houses/period property and their grounds in the UK, broadly speaking restoration and conservation are siblings and renovation is their (sometimes distant) cousin.

SJ has not grasped the complexities and nuances of this family tree.
Not particluarly complex ... it's just that Her Graspingness is not the brightest of individuals ...

They need a proper horticulturist's advice. Planting all these annuals along the walls needs attention, constant care, weeding, replanting, etc.. Why not go for a mix of seasonally appropriate, long lasting perennials suited to the climate and the location against the wall?!
And do not start me on the plans for the parterre garden....who is going to look after it?
I agree with you and I am Danfending here =- hardy and long lasting perennials are the way to go. However, she needs to renovate the walls - and striping the rendering off will cause plant damage at the foot of the walls. My guess is that annuals are a temporary fix / for show until that work is done.
